According to a splash screen found on the World of Warcraft test servers, the Midnight Pre-Patch will launch before January 27. This means World of Warcraft fans will likely be able to enjoy features like Housing Neighborhoods and the Devourer Demon Hunter as early as January 20.

World of Warcraft: Midnight Pre-Patch Likely Arriving January 20

Though this patch has not even arrived yet, fans have already discovered when the first update for World of Warcraft: Midnight is set to arrive. Wowhead recently datamined a new splash screen from the World of Warcraft test servers that claims the Twilight Ascension Midnight Pre-Patch event begins on January 27, implying the update itself will arrive some time before then. Past expansion Pre-Patch events have historically begun a week after their respective updates, all but confirming the current plan is to release the 12.0 Pre-Patch on January 20.

Assuming this is correct, the January 20 update will add Neighborhood Endeavors to WoW’s Player Housing system. Additionally, Demon Hunters will be able to play the Devourer specialization, choose the Void Elf race, and complete a quest explaining the lore of these new options. Meanwhile, this update will implement World of Warcraft: Midnight' s massive class changes as well. January 27 will mark the beginning of the Twilight Ascension Pre-Patch event, in which fans will contend with the Twilight’s Blade, a rebranded version of the Twilight’s Hammer loyal to Xal’atath.

This new information corroborates the previous leaks hinting at Midnight’s release schedule. An unnamed World of Warcraft event was discovered that ran from January 27 through March 9, which is almost certainly the Twilight Ascension Pre-Patch event. What’s more, World of Warcraft: Legion Remix ends on January 19, the day before this potential date, meaning players could roll from one exciting event into another with little downtime.

If all of this data is correct, the full Midnight release will likely arrive on or around March 10, though other leaks suggest it could hit WoW as early as February 26. Regardless, the big day is coming soon, but fans can pre-purchase the World of Warcraft: Midnight Epic Edition to get three days of early access before the expansion’s official release date, whenever it may be.
