World of Warcraft is running a test of the Midnight Pre-Patch event on November 17 alongside members of the development team. At this time, fans with access to the World of Warcraft: Midnight beta can try out the Pre-Patch event before it arrives next year.
The beta testing period for WoW: Midnight has officially begun. Select players who opt in to the beta via the Blizzard website, or who pre-purchase the Epic Edition of Midnight, can try out the vast majority of content from the World of Warcraft expansion, including all the new zones, dungeons, delves, and class changes, along with the Haranir Allied Race.
World of Warcraft’s Patch 11.2.7 Launches December 2, Bringing Major New Features
World of Warcraft: The War Within is ending 2025 in a big way, and December 2 in particular is a day that fans will not want to miss out on.
How to Participate in the WoW: Midnight Pre-Patch Event Test
However, fans in the World of Warcraft beta will soon be able to test the Midnight Pre-Patch event. On November 17 at 11 PT, a new realm called “Midnight Prelaunch Event” will open for about two hours, in which players can copy their characters over from live to try out the activity. What’s more, members of the World of Warcraft team will also be participating, giving fans a chance not only to help test the Pre-Patch event, but to meet some of the devs as well.
- When: Monday, November 17, from 11 PT - 1 PT
-
Where: World of Warcraft: Midnight Beta, "Midnight Prelaunch Event" Realm
- Realm opens when the event starts and closes a short period after the listed time
- How: Copy a character from World of Warcraft: The War Within
The announcement post on the forums shared some interesting tidbits about the new event coming before World of Warcraft: Midnight. Players will investigate the rise of the Twilight’s Blade – an offshoot of the Twilight's Hammer loyal to Xal’atath – alongside Umbric and Rommath, and travel to the Twilight Highlands in order to confront them. The event will evidently have a “rapid cadence,” and will appear in the Event tracker in the map interface, making it easy to get to the action. Gamers will start the prelaunch activity via a quest called “The Cult Within,” obtained in Stormwind or Orgrimmar.
When hopping into the event, fans may want to make sure they take a look at the class and specialization they are trying out. WoW: Midnight makes some sweeping changes to every class, so preparing ahead of time will help them bring their full rotations to bear against the Twilight’s Blade.
There is no official release date for the World of Warcraft: Midnight Pre-Patch event yet, but signs point to it potentially beginning as early as January 20, the day after Legion Remix ends. While this test ostensibly requires players to have beta access, fans should be able to enjoy the actual Pre-Patch event, even if they don’t own Midnight yet.
