Blizzard Reveals New WoW Mounts Inspired by Warcraft 3

To celebrate the franchise's 30th anniversary, WoW reveals a new set of incredible mounts for both modern and Classic that are inspired by Warcraft 3.

Now, these rumors have officially been confirmed as fact. On Twitter, Mountain Dew Gaming just shared a short announcement revealing that Mountain Dew Game Fuel is back with two W orld of Warcraft-themed flavors. Citrus Cherry – one of the original WoW flavors from its first collaboration years ago – has returned, sporting the image of Thrall, the iconic former Warchief of the Horde, and the Lich King. It is joined by Citrus Blackberry, a dark purple drink featuring Alleria Windrunner and her nemesis, Xal’atath – the Harbinger of the Void and major antagonist of WoW: The War Within. Both flavors are only available for a limited time, so gamers should be sure to try them while they can.

  • Citrus Blackberry featuring Xal’atath

Long-term World of Warcraft fans might remember the first Mountain Dew promotion from 2009. Featuring Alliance- and Horde-themed flavors, sweepstakes, and an amazing CGI commercial featuring an Orc and Night Elf brawling in a supermarket, World of Warcraft players lucky enough to still have old Mountain Dew bottles from this collaboration still treasure them to this day.

Other games that have collaborated with Mountain Dew have offered in-game rewards and real-life loot in exchange for codes found on Game Fuel products, such as Final Fantasy 14’s Mountain Zu mount. At present, there does not appear to be any Mountain Dew Gaming Rewards associated with World of Warcraft yet, though that could change in the future.

This isn’t the only collaboration going on with World of Warcraft right now. Trolli is currently selling World of Warcraft-themed products that can be used to earn an in-game Gummi worm pet. Alternatively, if qualifying Trolli products are purchased from Dollar General, Walgreens, or Circle K, one of three different colored Classic tabard transmogs can be obtained instead. Blizzard is pulling out all the stops for Warcraft’s 30th anniversary on November 15, and WoW’s 20th anniversary on November 23, so it is possible fans might see even more collaborations involving the franchise before the celebration is over.
