Some World of Warcraft fans have discovered audio files for a fourth, unannounced Lorewalking storyline pertaining to the Blood Elves of Quel’thalas. Though this chapter likely won’t be released with the feature initially, World of Warcraft players can almost certainly expect to see it in a later The War Within update, if not during Midnight.

Lorewalking is a new leveling experience coming in World of Warcraft Patch 11.1.7 where fans play through curated storytelling experiences that delve into the lore of important characters, cultures, and events. Three questlines will be available with the launch of the feature in Patch 11.1.7: Xal’atath, the Ethereals, and the Lich King.

However, players have found evidence that a fourth Lorewalking storyline is forthcoming. While exploring the World of Warcraft Patch 11.1.7 Public Test Realm and datamining its files, WoW content creator MrGM discovered over two and a half minutes of dialogue from Lorewalker Cho, the Pandaren narrator of the new feature voiced by Jim Cummings. The lines discuss much of the history of the Blood Elves, starting with their exile from Kalimdor and moving through the founding of Quel’thalas, the invasion of the Scourge, Kael’thas’ bargain with Kil’jaeden, and the restoration of the Sunwell.

Unreleased Elf Lorewalking Story in WoW Patch 11.1.7

Previously, Wowhead had discovered the text of Cho’s narration, along with a UI image featuring Lor’themar Theron and Magister Umbric, prominent leaders of the Blood and Void Elves respectively, but the presence of this recorded dialogue implies the development of this storyline is well under way. Likewise, the fact that Umbric can be seen in the datamined image suggests the questline will continue on from where Cho's story ended, delving into the origin of the Void Elves.

While there is no confirmation as to when this storyline will be released, fans can likely expect it later this year, in one of the patches ahead of Midnight. The expansion brings players back to a revamped Quel’thalas, making the months beforehand the perfect time to remind fans of the region's major historical story beats. What’s more, World of Warcraft may be able to use uprezzed assets from the zone revamps when creating new quests for the storyline.

World of Warcraft Patch 11.1.7 adds tons of content to the game besides Lorewalking as well, including a story campaign in the Arathi Highlands, Battle for Azeroth Timewalking, and a new way for every class to self-heal. The patch doesn’t have a launch date yet, but estimations based on the PTR calendar suggest June 17 or 24 are the most likely candidates for release.
