Summary
- WoW Remix: Mists of Pandaria ends on August 20 at 7 AM PDT.
- After the event ends, Timerunners will keep level and reputation, but lose gear, non-gold currencies, and quests.
With World of Warcraft Remix: Mists of Pandaria ending soon, Blizzard has revealed the minutiae of what will happen to their Timerunners once the event concludes. After August 19, characters will be teleported to their faction capital, given a set of modest endgame gear, and stripped of most of their currencies, so World of Warcraft fans should be sure to prepare accordingly.
WoW Remix: Mists of Pandaria is a throwback event where players experience the 12-year-old expansion with overpowered abilities, endless progression, and modern convenience. Fans can blitz through the eastern-themed expansion, scoring achievements, heightened reputation gains, and rare cosmetics, such as the elusive Tusks of Mannoroth from WoW’s Siege of Orgrimmar raid.
Unfortunately, WoW Remix: Mists of Pandaria is a limited-time event. On August 20 at 7 AM PDT, the World of Warcraft game mode will shut down, and all Timerunners will be transformed into normal characters. To help players prepare for the transition, World of Warcraft released a guide for what happens to their characters. Most items will be removed during the conversion process, which may take several minutes upon login for each Timerunner. While characters will receive a set of bags and starting gear of a modest strength for their level, all currencies except gold will be removed, so fans will want to spend their Bronze, Lesser Charms of Good Fortune, and Timeless Coins before they are lost forever.
What Happens After WoW Remix: Mists of Pandaria Ends?
- The game mode officially ends on August 20 at 7 AM PDT.
- Logging in to each Timerunner after the event may take several minutes for the conversion process.
-
Characters will keep:
- Level
- Unlearned collection items, such as ensembles, will be sent to their mailbox
- Gold
- Reputation
-
Characters will lose:
- Gear and items
- Non-gold currencies (Bronze, Lesser Charms of Good Fortune, Timeless Coins, etc.)
- Quests
-
Characters will receive:
- Item level 467 gear for level 70 characters, or lower item level gear for characters below 70.
- Four 30-slot bags and one 26-slot reagent bag.
- Automatic teleport to Stormwind or Orgrimmar for Alliance and Horde respectively.
Though they may lose their currencies, the blog made no mention of losing reputation, so fans can expect to keep any progress they made towards the various factions in World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria. With a set of large bags and item level 467 gear, ex-Timerunners should be well-equipped to jump right into The War Within when it launches the week after WoW Remix ends.
All in all, WoW Remix: Mists of Pandaria was a huge success. While it was not without its problems, the event was popular during its entire run, with players still clearing content in the game mode as it comes to an end. Hopefully, future WoW Remix events can learn from its mistakes and improve the concept even further.
