NeutralAgent, the legendary World of Warcraft player who reached max level on his Pandaren without leaving the Wandering Isle, has repeated this feat in The War Within. After nearly 10 and a half days, this World of Warcraft fan was able to reach level 80 without leaving the Pandaren starting zone.
On December 29, 2013, World of Warcraft player NeutralAgent became the first person to ever reach level 80 – the maximum level during Mists of Pandaria before the Shadowlands level squish – without leaving the Wandering Isle and joining a faction. In every expansion since then, NeutralAgent has repeated this World of Warcraft achievement, reaching the max level on multiple max-level characters without ever setting foot outside the Pandaren starting zone.
Now, NeutralAgent has done it again. On September 2, the legendary player reported that he had reached level 80, the new maximum level in World of Warcraft: The War Within, on his neutral character, once again setting a world record. However, rather than doing so on his Shaman, Doubleagent, like he has before, NeutralAgent actually leveled his Rogue, CovertAgent, first.
NeutralAgent Reaches Level 80 in WoW: The War Within
Because he has long since outleveled everything on the Wandering Isle, the only reliable way of gaining experience there is through the Mining and Herbalism professions. The amount of experience required to go from level 70 to 80 was much higher than in previous expansions, but luckily, NeutralAgent was able to benefit from the blanket 25% experience bonus World of Warcraft players can get by having other characters reach the level cap. After earning this boost by leveling five characters to 80 through conventional means, NeutralAgent raised his first neutral Pandaren in 10 days and 10 hours – a couple of days faster than reaching 70 took in Dragonflight.
This won’t be the last character NeutralAgent brings to 80 during The War Within. By the end of Dragonflight, he had eight max-level neutral Pandaren on the Wandering Isle. Fans can expect him to slowly work on bringing these characters up to max level – and he will almost certainly become the world's first neutral level 90 in World of Warcraft: Midnight when it releases in a couple of years.
As ever, NeutralAgent’s fellow World of Warcraft players were shocked by his dedication. While the initial push to max level was impressive, the fact he continues to repeat this feat every couple of years is a testament to his determination. World of Warcraft’s 20-year anniversary is later this year, so it was also fitting that WoW: The War Within brought the level cap back to 80 – where it was when NeutralAgent began this journey. No doubt NeutralAgent will continue his humble quest for as long as World of Warcraft is still making new expansions.
