Summary
- World of Warcraft has made additional changes to The War Within's Turbo Boost event.
- Players can earn Puzzling Cartel Chips by completing a weekly quest to defeat four Liberation of Undermine bosses.
- These can be used to purchase incredibly useful items.
World of Warcraft has shared some more details about The War Within’s Turbo Boost, including a way to complete the weekly quest with Mythic dungeons, a list of all purchasable items, and more, faster rewards than before. This gearing event will begin on May 13 and continue until World of Warcraft Season 3 begins in Patch 11.2.
The Turbo Boost is a new event in World of Warcraft that will help players gear up faster for the remainder of The War Within Season 2. Starting May 13, fans can enjoy higher drop rates for Warband until Equipped gear from Mythic+ dungeons, additional rewards from Delves, and extended Hero and Myth gear tracks, all while gaining the ability to transfer Valorstones and improve Spark of Fortune crafted gear with Augmentation Matricies.
World of Warcraft Players Discover Unannounced Fourth Lorewalking Story
World of Warcraft players find definitive proof that a fourth Lorewalking story is in the works, even though it wasn't announced for Patch 11.1.7.
That said, the main attraction of the Season 2 Turbo Boost is the Puzzling Cartel Chips, which World of Warcraft has made some big improvements to since they were first announced. Similar to the Puzzling Cartel Dinar from Shadowlands or the Antique Bronze Bullions from WoW: Dragonflight, players can earn Puzzling Cartel Chips by completing a weekly quest to defeat four Liberation of Undermine bosses. However, fans can also now earn these rewards by completing four Mythic+ dungeons instead. What’s more, the first time a character completes the quest, they earn three Puzzling Cartel Chips – enough to immediately buy a piece of gear – with a single chip earned in subsequent weeks, to a maximum of nine per character, up from the original limit of six.
WoW: The War Within Season 2 Turbo Boost Changes
-
Two ways to complete the weekly quest
- Defeat four Liberation of Undermine bosses
- Complete four Mythic+ dungeons
- Earn three Puzzling Cartel Chips on the first week, one Puzzling Cartel Chip on subsequent weeks , to a maximum of nine per character (up from six)
- Hero gear no longer has a purchase requirement
- Myth raid gear still requires players to defeat the bosses who drop gear, and they must time all Season 2 Mythic+ dungeons to buy Myth tier trinkets
Were that not exciting enough, fans can now purchase Hero gear with Puzzling Cartel Chips without any prerequisites. Myth raid gear still requires players to have defeated the Liberation of Undermine boss who drops it, while Mythic+ dungeon trinkets require fans to have timed every World of Warcraft: The War Within Season 2 dungeon at Mythic 12 or higher in order to purchase them. Every item from Liberation of Undermine is available from Consultant Wrexxle near the Great Vault in Dornogal, except the Miniature Roulette Wheel, as are all trinkets found in Mythic+ dungeons.

Generally speaking, these changes have been well-received by the community. The removal of the Hero track gear requirements, and the addition of Mythic+ dungeon trinkets to the vendor, have been especially popular changes. That said, many players are still not happy about the strict prerequisites for purchasing Myth gear from the vendor, as many hoped to use the item level boost to finally complete the Mythic Liberation of Undermine raid in World of Warcraft. Fans will have to wait and see if Blizzard makes any further changes to this system before the end of Season 2.
