- Players should be aware of potential issues like missing reputations and incorrect conversions during the Warband conversion test on the PTR.
World of Warcraft is holding a public test of the conversion process for the new Warband feature coming in The War Within. The test for the complex feature will take place on June 17, but World of Warcraft players can get ready for the event starting June 12.
Warbands are one of the most exciting features coming in World of Warcraft: The War Within. Marketed as “account-wide everything,” this system enables progress on achievements, reputations, and flight paths to be shared across all characters on a World of Warcraft account. It also includes other quality-of-life features, such as a shared bank, easier transmog unlocks, and the ability to hide quests players have completed on other World of Warcraft characters.
Now, World of Warcraft fans can see the Warbands system in action themselves. When players first log in after Warbands have been added in The War Within's Pre-Patch, a lengthy conversion process will take place to collate their characters’ data. On June 17, World of Warcraft is testing this conversion on the Public Test Realm in the hopes of identifying issues ahead of time. Interested fans can start copying their Dragonflight characters onto the Public Test Realm starting on June 12 for use in the test.
WoW: The War Within Warband Conversion Test
-
June 12 – The War Within PTR opens to allow players to copy characters to test World of Warcraft's Warband conversion system.
- Copy as many characters as possible, especially if they have been played a lot.
-
June 17 – The Warband conversion test takes place.
- The conversion process may take several minutes after the first login.
- World of Warcraft is looking for any discrepancies with account-wide achievement progress, reputations adjusting to the highest rank, and flight path unlocks.
After the conversion, characters should share achievement progress and flight unlocks, and should see most World of Warcraft: Dragonflight reputations set to the highest level among copied toons. World of Warcraft asks players to check out their Warband after the conversion process to see if anything is missing, or if anything is converted incorrectly. That said, it is aware of a number of known issues fans may encounter during the test.
Warbands Conversion Test Known Issues
- Copied characters will be missing Dragonflight reputations, any flight points, and certain existing achievement progress.
- Item Sort and Cleanup does not work as expected in all cases.
- Dragonflight reputations will disappear in the reputation tab when logging out.
- Appearance acquisitions are sometimes listed twice in chat.
- Deposit All Warbound Items deposits more than Warbound items.
- Deposit All Warband Items pulls items from Character bank.
- Some reagents cannot be used from the Warbands bank.
- Items cannot be swapped in the account-wide bank.
- Players cannot purchase account-wide bank tabs with money stored in the account-wide bank.
Fans interested in experiencing even more of the Warbands system ahead of time can do so in the ongoing beta for The War Within. Lucky players will be invited every week during the test, but fans who pre-purchased the Epic or Collector’s Editions for World of Warcraft: The War Within get a guaranteed spot in the beta.
