When logging into World of Warcraft after The War Within Pre-Patch, players will have to complete a short quest in order to get the Warband Bank Distance Inhibitor, allowing them to access their Warband Bank anywhere in the world. While the base Warband Bank is available right away, World of Warcraft fans will have to unlock this useful spell, and make sure they have gold to buy the tabs of this special storage area.

The Warband Bank is one of the new features added as a part of the alt-friendly Warbands system in World of Warcraft: The War Within. This account-wide bank allows players to store non-soulbound items from any character within it, allowing them to quickly and easily share items between their alts.

However, one feature of the Warband Bank isn’t unlocked automatically. The Warband Bank Distance Inhibitor is a special account-wide spell that lets players summon a portal to access their Warband Bank for 10 minutes on a two-hour cooldown per character. Fans can unlock this useful World of Warcraft feature via a short questline beginning with Warbands: Warbanding Together – a quest that should be automatically accepted upon logging in. A quick trip to Gadgetzan in Tanaris will allow players to finish this questline and unlock the Warband Bank Distance Inhibitor for their entire account.

Warband Banks in WoW: The War Within Pre-Patch

  • The Warband Bank is an account-wide bank fans can access from any character.
  • The bank has 5 available tabs with 98 inventory slots each, each of which must be purchased with gold.
  • Players can complete the Warbands: Warbanding Together quest to unlock the Warband Bank Distance Inhibitor, allowing them to access their Warband Bank anywhere in the world for 10 minutes every two hours.

Beyond this short quest, fans will also have to buy the tabs on their Warband Bank. The first of the five 98-slot tabs only costs 1,000 gold, but subsequent unlocks have an ascending gold cost. Buying all of them will run players more than 3,000,000 gold, but the one-time investment unlocks the extra storage on their entire World of Warcraft account.

Unfortunately, at press time, the Warband Bank is currently unavailable in the World of Warcraft: The War Within Pre-Patch due to a critical issue. Blizzard is already working to resolve the problem as swiftly as it can, so fans can expect the Warband Bank to return soon. In the meantime, they can still head to Tanaris and complete Warbands: Warbanding Together to prepare for the Warband Bank’s triumphant return.
