Summary
- GPS navigation app Waze has added official World of Warcraft features for fans to use while they travel.
- New options include being able to have fan-favorite character Thrall as a navigation sidekick, complete with unique in-character voicelines.
- Users also have access to other cosmetic features based on a red dragon, an Alliance soldier, and a Horde orc.
Waze has officially added several World of Warcraft options to the navigation app, including a Thrall sidekick voice, a dragon vehicle, and Alliance and Horde-themed mood icons. These free World of Warcraft customizations are already available on the Waze app for fans to enjoy without any purchase necessary.
Though there are many different navigation apps on the market for users to choose from, Waze stands out with its breadth of fun customization options and interactivity with other drivers using it. The Google-owned GPS features charming icons for drivers, as well as tons of different sidekicks to provide vocal direction and narration, like one that mimics a classic fantasy role-playing game NPC straight out of a Dungeons and Dragons game.
World of Warcraft: Non-Evoker Dracthyr Get a Huge Nerf Ahead of Class Expansion
World of Warcraft nerfs one of the Dracthyr's most powerful racial abilities ahead of their class expansion coming in The War Within Patch 11.0.5.
Now, Waze has added a few new options inspired by World of Warcraft. Waze users can choose Thrall, voiced by the legendary Warcraft creative director Chris Metzen, as their navigation sidekick. The iconic Orc Shaman provides spiritual guidance for the driver as he helps them navigate. When encountering traffic, he says things like "breathe — this is not the end of the world,” and he refers to U-turns as "a clever strategy to fool any pursuers on our tail," saying “this is not a retreat; merely a tactical maneuver.” Guided by the dulcet tones of legendary former Warchief of the Horde, fans can bring a little bit of Azeroth along with them on their commutes.
World of Warcraft Options in Waze GPS App
- Thrall sidekick narrator
- Red dragon vehicle icon
- Alliance and Horde moods
That’s not the only World of Warcraft option available in Waze now. Beyond the Thrall sidekick, fans can select a red dragon mount from World of Warcraft to represent their vehicle on the navigation map. Additionally, they can choose from two moods, which change how their vehicle appears to other Waze users – an Alliance soldier, or a miniature Orc for those who want to represent the Horde.
The World of Warcraft Waze options are available in most locations where the app is available, but the Thrall sidekick currently only has an English version. Both the app and the World of Warcraft customizations are free, so fans can enjoy them at no additional cost.
World of Warcraft fans were delighted by these new Waze options. Thrall has been one of the most popular characters in Azeroth since he appeared in Warcraft 3, so the prospect of bringing him on the road with them was too good to pass up. Many players got a kick at how deep some of his lines got, such as when he says “If you made a mistake, forgive yourself. We all make them… as I did with Garrosh becoming Warchief,” with a sigh. Between this and World of Warcraft’s recent promotion with Trolli, there is no shortage of real-life collaborations for fans to enjoy right now.
