Transmogrification is a popular feature in World of Warcraft for those who enjoy playing on the retail or Cataclysm-era servers. It allows even more unique and creative customization options for each character, and collecting different types of gear just for the "transmog" has become just as important as questing or raiding.
Transmog was introduced in the Cataclysm expansion, but players didn't have to start from scratch. Many of the gear and weapons that the character had already obtained were available for transmog when the expansion was released, and any item they obtained through quests, crafting, or drops will also appear in the Transmog catalog. Here are some of the best transmogs that were available to players in Cataclysm when the practice was new.
WoW Cataclysm Classic: How To Get Albino Cavefish (& Why You Should)
If you're on the hunt for an albino cavefish in World of Warcraft Classic, this guide can point you in the right direction.
The Transmog sets available to each character are limited to the type of gear their class can wear, so casters will only have cloth transmogs but classes like Paladins or Warriors will have the plate and mail gear. Some of the most sought-after items are also the most difficult to obtain and can be rare drops from obscure bosses, PvP rewards, or raid sets.
Circle Of Flame
A Crown Of Living Fire
- Location: Drops from Lord Incendius in Blackrock Depths
It's a mid-level item that drops from this optional boss at a rate of about 2%, but the design makes it one of the most sought-after in the game. There's only one other item like it, the Crown of Desolation, and this is a plate item that drops from Ragnaros in the Molten Core raid, and is considerably even more difficult to get.
How To Find Ambassador Flamelash
Retail WoW includes a feature called level scaling, which means if you want to acquire this item the dungeon will be scaled to the same level as the character, and you'll need a group to fight Flamelash. The following directions are for Cataclysm, which doesn't have level scaling, making it possible for high-level characters to do this alone.
- Go to Blackrock Depths. This is one of many instances in the infamous Blackrock Mountain, and since it's a level 40 to 45 dungeon it's usually the first one that players visit. Take a left when entering, pass through the gate, and take the door to the right that leads directly into the West Garrison.
- Find the Grim Guzzler. It's the hottest tavern in all of Azeroth. Go through the back door, stay to the left, take the first stairway, and turn right.
- Kill Flamelash. The Ambassador is alone in a big room filled with lava, but during the fight, several small fire elementals adds join the fight to help him. He probably won't drop the Circle of Flame the first try, so be prepared to do this several times.
This route is a shortcut that assumes the player has run the dungeon at least once before and has the keys to get into the West Garrison. If this is their first time to BRD, they can still take the long route alone, depending on their level and class, but have a map or guide of this extensive dungeon on hand before you do so.
World Of Warcraft: Cataclysm Classic - The Best New Recipes For Tailors, Ranked
World of Warcraft tailors can't afford to pass up the following recipes in Cataclysm Classic.
Black Embersilk Gown
A High-Level Crafted Item
- Location: Get the recipe from a Tailoring trainer
This item is one of the new cosmetic pieces of clothing that was introduced in Cataclysm. A character needs a Tailoring skill of 500 to make it and it costs 8 bolts of Embersilk to purchase, so players that have different professions can commission one or buy one at the Auction House.
It's not as easy as it looks, however, because this purely cosmetic piece of clothing requires an eyebrow-raising amount of expensive and rare materials. That includes Volatile Fire, which drops from specific high-level enemies in Mount Hyjal and the Twilight Highlands, and Chaos Orbs, which only drop from the final Boss of heroic-level dungeons and are soulbound, so they can't be bought or sold.
The LFG function in Cataclysm will only show the option for Heroics if your character has a total gear score of 329 or higher. Chaos Orbs don't drop in normal dungeons.
World Of Warcraft: Cataclysm Classic - All Primary Professions, Ranked
Here's how World of Warcraft: Cataclysm Classic's primary professions stack up for players eager to know.
Robe Of The Malefic
Part Of A Legacy Raid Set
- Location: Tydormu, the Keeper of Lost Artifacts, in the Scale of the Sands
In the modern game, this is a key part of a whole transmog set that every caster wants. The helm, called the Hood of the Malefic, which features longhorn-style horns and procs a set of giant bat wings, is also impressive. The only way to get this set is to join a raid for Mount Hyjal, win the roll for the Chestguard of the Forgotten Conqueror when it drops from Archimonde, and item that can then be traded with Tydormu
How To Find Tydormu
The vendors who trade these pieces are often in awkward places, and Tydormu is one example. Once you have the required token, this is how you find him to exchange it.
- Go To The Caverns Of Time. Fly to the inner sanctum from the entrance. It's the second one to the right from where the dragon drops you off in the Cataclysm expansion.
- Enter The Mount Hyjal Raid. You need to be at least level 65, in a raid and have Classic WoW installed.
- Speak To Tydormu. Find him wandering in the "foyer" of the Mount Hyjal raid, which contains more than one portal leading to different stages of what's still one of WoW's most complex and difficult 40-player raids.
World Of Warcraft: Cataclysm Classic - The Best Fishing Poles And Where To Find Them
Players on the hunt for the best fishing poles in WoW: Cataclysm Classic should keep their eyes peeled for the following examples.
.
Katoom's Mask
The Highest Fashion From Revantusk Village
- Location: A reward for the quest to slay the fearsome Gammarita
This is the headpiece for a larger set known as the Dream Bough Regalia, and it's fairly easy to get provided you stumble on this obscure quest in the Hinterlands.
This particular headpiece is only available to Horde players, but if Alliance players are looking for something similar, the Demon Killer Mask is available as a reward from the "Infernal Encroachment" quest in Desolace that's available to both factions.
- Find Shadowprey Village. This is a bit easier now that the destruction of Deathwing has cleared a better road to the coast. Revantusk Village is on the eastern coast and has its own flight path.
- Speak To Katoom. He sells fishing supplies on the dock, and he's lost his favorite fishing lure and asks for your help. Kill the quota of giant turtles first, and that will lead to another quest, "Gammerita, Mon!" Which consists of killing the mighty Gammerita and returning Katoom's favorite lure to get this simple but fashionable mask.
