With every expansion for World of Warcraft, players can look forward to having new items to craft through professions. But before you can craft any of the new stuff, you will need to gather the materials. Fortunately, miners will have no trouble finding ore as they explore Khaz Algar. While there are only three new kinds of ore to gather in The War Within, it is important to know where they can be found while you are out farming.
Minor spoilers below, proceed with caution.

Where to Learn Khaz Algar Mining
Before you can start gathering ore, you will need to first learn Khaz Algar mining from a mining trainer. First, you will need to have completed enough of the campaign to unlock the Isle of Dorn. Once you go to Dornogal and clear out the Nerubians, there will be a campaign quest where you can talk to a guard. They will mark the location of profession trainers on your map. The mining trainer is near the piles of green crystals at (X,Y) 52.6, 52.8. It will cost 95 gold to learn, which will be mere pocket change compared to all the gold you will get as you progress through the campaign.
Where to Find Bismuth
Bismuth is easily the most common ore in Khaz Algar. Unlike the other Khaz Algar ore nodes, it can be found in all four The War Within zones.
Where to Find Ironclaw
Ironclaw Ore is an uncommon quality ore that can be found in both the Isle of Dorn and The Ringing Deeps. These are the only two zones where it spawns, so be mindful of that when farming.
Where to Find Aqirite
The third and final Khaz Algar ore is Aqirite. Aqirite can be mined only in Hallowfall and Azj'kahet.
Webbed Ore Deposits
While Webbed Ore Deposits do not drop a unique ore, but instead will contain either Bismuth, Ironclaw, or Aqirite depending on what zone they spawn in. You also get Weavercloth, which can be used by Tailors.
Mining Specialization Trees
Once again, mining has its own profession tree that players can invest skill points in. Once you've reached rank 25 in Khaz Algar mining, you will be able to pick one of the three specializations. You will be able to unlock the other two once you reach rank 50 and rank 75 respectively.

Ultimately, it doesn't matter which specialization you choose first, as you will eventually be able to unlock all of them. If you want higher quality ore faster, start with Plethora of Ore. If you want to get more ore right off the bat without any regard for quality, choose Mining Fundamentals. If you want to focus on farming other materials that drop from the unique nodes, choose Mastering the Mysterious.
Best Way To Level Mining
Mining nodes are very easy to come across, especially when you are leveling. Mine every single ore node that appears on your mini-map, especially any Rich deposits. If you come across any Webbed Ore Deposits, EZ-Mine nodes, Weeping nodes, or Crystallized nodes, make sure to prioritize gathering them over other nodes. The reason for this is that you are always guaranteed a skill up every time you successfully gather from one of these variant nodes.
Make sure to be careful with EZ-Mine nodes, as the dynamite does a lot of damage if you don't have the Outlawed Techniques skill purchased.
