Hallow's End is the Halloween event in World of Warcraft, and here is what you can expect from this spooky event.
Released in Chapters every week, the WoW Guest Relations quest tasks players with solving secrets and de-mystifying mysteries around the world. This guide explains how to complete the Guest Relations questline and explains when you can expect each Chapter of the Guest Relations questline to unlock in the WoW 20th Anniversary event.

Guest Relations Release Schedule - WoW 20th Anniversary
The Guest Relations questline in WoW's 20th Anniversary Celebration was not included with the original launch of the event. Instead, this multi-part questline is set to play out over the next several months as steps unlock each week. Each main step in the quest chains rewards a small amount of Bronze Celebration Tokens, so it's a good idea to get each part done as it unlocks.
- October 28, 2024: Guest Relations Chapter 1
- November 4, 2024: Guest Relations Chapter 2
- November 11, 2024: Guest Relations Chapter 3
So far, we know the event will have at least two chapters, but it is possible that more WoW Guest Relations quests may open up later on in the event – the 20th Anniversary event is active until January 6, 2025 after all.
Guest Relations Quest Walkthrough
WoW Guest Relations Chapter 1 Walkthrough
To start the Guest Relations questline, head to the central tent in the 20th Anniversary celebration grounds and look for Alyx (she should have a large exclamation point over her head after October 28). She will give you the 'Lost and Busy' quest, which directs you to talk to Maru, a Tuskarr child who can be found next to Leeroy Jenkins just opposite the Mount Mania stage.

Talk to Maru to get the 'Tat Big Meanie' quest. Use the Idol of Ohn'ahra that the quest provides to locate four hidden clues around the event grounds. The beam above your head will point in the direction of the nearest treasure, if you are close enough to one.
- Red Hair Location: To the right of the World Boss Weekly questgiver, south of the main Tent
- Historic Tales Location: Stapled to a post near the Red Hair location
- Ratts Location: In the crowd at the Storyteller's stage
- Strange Torch Location: Behind the Barbershop near Fashion Frenzy stage
Turn these four items into Maru to get the next quest, 'To Da Ruins'. Fly to the southwest to reach the entrance to Uldum and speak to Maru again to pick up 'Da Stick Of Revealing'. This gives you the Torch of Pyrreth, teaches you how to use it, and leads to the follow-up quest 'Treasure Hunt'.
This quest asks that you find four more hidden items around the area while using the Torch.
- Jeweled Eye Location: Stand next to a giant stone head at the north of the southernmost quest circle, then loot the eye once your beam activates.
- Cool Guts Location: Stand near a gooey mass on the east side of the southernmost quest circle to summon a Worm enemy, then defeat it.
- Golden Chalice Location: Inside a Buried Chest in the central quest circle that can only be opened with the Torch active
- Fragment of an Ancient Statue Location: In the northeastern-most quest circle on your world map. Activate the Ancient Statue with the Torch, then defeat it.
WoW: The War Within – Best Tank Classes, Ranked
There are six Tank specs in WoW: The War Within, but some have an easier time in high-level content than others.
Bring these four hidden items back to Maru once again and pick up the next quest 'Thoughtful Pursuits' from the Tuskarr standing next to him back at the 20th Anniversary event area. You need to locate three items this time for the Tricked-Out Thinking Cap.
You do not have to loot anything for this portion of the quest – just activate the Cap and walk by the correct areas to get these items automatically.
- Benatauk's Crystal Ocular Lens: Next to the Balloon vendor at the entrance to the Caverns of Time
- Benatauk's Downy Helmet Liner: Near Taivan, in the northwest of the 20th Anniversary area with all other Pet vendors
- Benatauk's Thought Calculating Apparatus: Inside the Barbershop area behind the Fashion Frenzy stage
Bring these items back to Benatauk to complete the last of the three Guest Relations and Secrets of Azeroth tutorials. Pick up the 'A Whiff Of Help' quest from Benatauk after completing 'Thoughtful Pursuits' to be able to purchase an item called Spiritual Incense.
Spiritual Incense lets you conjure a spiritual connection to Maru the Junior Sleuth, who will give hints at nearby Secrets of Azeroth for other Guest Relations quests, like the Celebration Crate collections.
Now that you've completed the first Guest Relations chapter, you can start the second half of the story (when it unlocks on November 4, 2024), or take on other Guest Relations side quests from Alyx (the first quest giver in this chain).
