There are a lot of ways to gear up in WoW: The War Within, but one of the best ways to stay ahead of the curve is by using Enchanted Harbinger Crests. TWW players can use these new Optional Crafting Reagents to create high-level gear with certain professions – in fact, the best crafted gear in TWW Season One can only be made with these unique Reagents.

But the method to get Enchanted Harbinger Crests is a bit less simple than getting regular Harbinger Crests. You still need to collect Harbinger Crests to make an Enchanted version, but you also need to find an Enchanter and gather a number of other materials.

Enchanted Harbinger Crests Upgrade Crafted Items

In WoW TWW, Enchanted Harbinger Crests are an optional Crafting Reagent used to upgrade the iLvl of crafted equipment to a set range, based on which Crest you are using. It can't be used to help craft items that do not have an iLvl, it only applies to combat equipment crafting.

When slotted into the Optional Reagent slot at the bottom of your crafting screen, the Enchanted Harbinger Crest will raise the crafted item to a specific iLvl. There are three types of enchanted Weathered Harbinger Crests in WoW: The War Within, each of which adds Recipe Difficulty and boosts the iLvl of the crafted item to a different range based on its Quality.

  • Enchanted Weathered Harbinger Crest: +100 Recipe Difficulty, iLvl range 577 to 590
  • Enchanted Runed Harbinger Crest: +10 Recipe Difficulty, iLvl range 606 to 619
  • Enchanted Gilded Harbinger Crest: +20 Recipe Difficulty, iLvl range 623 to 636

If you want to create some of the highest-level gear in The War Within available in Season 1, you will need to use Enchanted Harbinger Crests. The highest range of Enchanted Gilded Harbinger Crests reward ilvl 636 gear, which is as high as it gets in the first season, but lower ranges can be extremely useful for keeping your crafted gear up to date as you progress.

There is no Enchanted Carved Harbinger Crest tier because the Spark of Omens essentially fills in that iLvl range. When used in crafting, the Spark of Omens will set crafted items' iLvl to 584 to 597.

How To Get Enchanted Harbinger Crests In WoW TWW

To get Enchanted Harbinger Crests, WoW TWW players will need to either be an Enchanter or request the services of an Enchanter via the Crafting Orders system. These items are bind-on-pickup, and cannot be traded, nor can they be sent to members of your Warband. You must put in a Crafting Order if want to use one for your profession but do not have the Enchanting profession.

In WoW The War Within, Fractured Spark of Omens is used to craft an item that guarantees a high item level for professions.

Enchanters do not automatically unlock these Enchanted Crest recipes as they level up the profession. Instead, each Recipe has a small chance to drop from most end bosses in The War Within's dungeons and high-level Delves.

How To Craft Enchanted Harbinger Crests

Whether you are crafting an Enchanted Harbinger Crest with your own Enchanting Profession or requesting the services of an Enchanter via Crafting Orders, you will need to bring materials. In addition to a base Nascent Harbinger Crest, each Enchanted Harbinger Crest recipe requires a certain amount of Glimmering Shards, Storm Dust, and sometimes Refulgent Crystals (a product of Disenchanting high-level Epics in TWW).

The quality of your materials does not matter for the quality of the Enchanted Harbinger Crest or the item you will craft with it. The only thing that determines the end result iLvl of your crafted item is the skill of the crafter and the Quality of the final product.

Nascent Harbinger Crest Location

Each Enchanted Harbinger Crest recipe requires a Nascent crest of the same type. To buy each Nascent Harbinger Crest, talk to the Enchanting Supplies vendor in Dornogal to trade a sum of your normal Harbinger Crests for a Nascent version.

  • Nascent Weathered Harbinger Crest: Requires 30x Weathered Harbinger Crest
  • Nascent Runed Harbinger Crest: Requires 45x Weathered Runed Crest
  • Nascent Gilded Harbinger Crest: Requires 90x Weathered Gilded Crest
