Despite being created by a relatively new studio, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers is easily one of the biggest single-player games to come out of China this year. This Leenzee-developed Soulslike was released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC a few days ago, and at the moment, it's received quite a lot of attention. Although it currently has mixed reviews on Steam due to performance issues, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers has had a minimum of over 50,000 peak concurrent players on the platform each day. If one were to take those playing the game on PlayStation and Xbox into account, as well, that number would likely be a lot higher.
At a time when publishers like Nintendo have started to charge $80 for some of their blockbuster video games, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers is being sold at the relatively low price of $50. Gamers who don't want to scrounge up the money to purchase it outright, however, can also play it at an even cheaper cost by subscribing to Xbox Game Pass. Wuchang: Fallen Feathers was probably the most significant day-one addition to the service this month, alongside other games like Grounded 2 and Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4. Although it will take a while for most Xbox players to beat Wuchang, those who have already finished it won't have to wait too long to experience another similar title on Microsoft's consoles.

Xbox Fans Who Liked Wuchang: Fallen Feathers Can Check Out Black Myth: Wukong in August
Black Myth: Wukong Was One of 2024's Most Popular Games
In the next few weeks, one of the most commercially successful games of 2024, Black Myth: Wukong, is going to make its debut on Xbox Series X/S. This title, which was developed by the independent Chinese studio Game Science, has sold over 20 million copies worldwide, and it's already gained a devoted cult following in China and many other regions around the globe. Although Black Myth: Wukong has received decent ratings from professional outlets, the user scores for the game have been far more positive. The game, for example, has nearly 850,000 reviews on Steam, only 4% of which are negative.
Wuchang: Fallen Feathers and Black Myth: Wukong Are Different in a Couple of Ways
Black Myth: Wukong shares a lot of similarities with Wuchang: Fallen Feathers on the surface, but the two games are fairly different from each other in a couple of ways. For starters, unlike Leenzee's hit title, Black Myth: Wukong is not a true Soulslike. Although it features a lot of boss battles and is a bit challenging at times, the game is more of a fast-paced action RPG than a proper successor to the Dark Souls series. In addition to this, Black Myth: Wukong is inspired by a classical Chinese novel called Journey to the West, so the game is technically an adaptation of an existing story rather than a completely original title, like Wuchang.
Black Myth: Wukong is Coming to Xbox Exactly One Year After Its Release on PS5 and PC
When Black Myth: Wukong first hit store shelves on August 20, 2024, it was only available on two platforms: PS5 and PC. The game was initially going to be released for Xbox Series X/S on the same day as the other platforms, but it was unexpectedly delayed on Xbox due to technical issues pertaining to the Xbox Series S. Now that those problems have been fixed, however, the Xbox version of Black Myth: Wukong is going to come out exactly one year after the launch of the PS5 and PC ports of the game: August 20, 2025.
Due to the somewhat unusual circumstances surrounding Black Myth: Wukong's Xbox port, some fans have accused Game Science of signing a secret one-year exclusivity deal with PlayStation. Although nothing has been explicitly confirmed or denied by the developers regarding this matter, it's at least great that the game is finally coming to Xbox consoles in the first place. Black Myth: Wukong may not provide the same exact experience as Wuchang: Fallen Feathers does, but it's likely to satiate Xbox fans who are longing for more Chinese-themed action games on their preferred platform.
