As confirmed by developer Kuro Games, Wuthering Waves' next update will debut Cantarella. She will be a 5-Star Rectifier unit with a Havoc attribute. Wuthering Waves has previously teased Cantarella's design through drip-marketing images and its latest story trailer, revealing that her signature motifs will be jellyfish. Earlier leaks about her kit suggested that said jellyfish would have a role in her combat gameplay. However, it seems Cantarella's creatures could also greatly benefit players when exploring the open world.

Reliable leaker Jinhsi Leaks has shared a video showcasing Cantarella swimming infinitely around Wuthering Waves' map. Per the leak, Cantarella has different swimming animations than other Resonators, as she swims much faster. Moreover, it seems casting one of her skills allows her to jump out of the water and float for a few seconds with her jellyfish, regaining stamina before she dives in again. In other words, she can swim infinitely by repeating this cycle. The leak comes from the game's 2.2 beta, so developers may alter Cantarella's abilities before the patch releases. If her swimming abilities make the final cut, though, Cantarella might be incredibly useful for exploring in Wuthering Waves.

The leak about Cantarella's swimming skills may remind players of Phoebe's flying abilities. On land, Phoebe can jump in the air and hover a certain distance, and some players have come up with specific skill sequences that allow her to practically fly infinitely. There is a chance that Cantarella might also require a tricky skill cycle to make the best out of her swimming abilities. Earlier Wuthering Waves leaks about Cantarella's signature weapon have also suggested that she could be a solid sub-DPS for Havoc units. The character will be the only new 5-Star in Version 2.2, but the update is rumored to debut Aero Rover as well.

Wuthering Waves Version 2.1 recently entered its second phase featuring Changli's rerun banner and Brant's debut. There are rumors that Wuthering Waves' 2.2 banners will feature Cantarella in the first half and The Shorekeeper and Camellya in the second, with the latter being one of the strongest Havoc DPS in the game. The 2.2 update is expected to launch in late March with a new main story chapter that will delve deeper into Phrolova's plan and Cartethyia's real identity.
