Kuro Games' hit RPG Wuthering Waves will hit an important milestone soon, as May 22 marks the end of its debut year. During this time, the game has amassed millions of players and established itself as a formidable rival in the open-world gacha genre. After launching on PS5 in January, Wuthering Waves landed on Steam on April 29, adding another platform to its list. The game quickly achieved a "Very Positive" rating with over 3,900 reviews. Wuthering Waves' Steam version supports data-sharing across PC, PS5, and mobile devices. However, the developers did not specify whether Wuthering Waves would run on Steam Deck as well. Fortunately for fans, Kuro Games has recently commented on the matter.

The statement comes after several players tried to launch Wuthering Waves on Steam Deck and Desktop Linux but were met with an Anti-Cheat Expert (ACE) error message that prevented them from logging in. This posed a setback for fans who were looking forward to playing the game on the go. Now that Wuthering Waves is addressing player feedback, hopefully they can feel more encouraged about the RPG's release on Steam Deck.

Wuthering Waves Addresses Compatibility Issues on Steam Deck

Many titles that use ACE tend not to work on Steam Deck because of the device's Linux-based operating system. Players have reacted positively to Kuro Games' comments about bringing Wuthering Waves to Steam Deck, with one user pointing out how it could open the doors for other games facing the same problem. There are exceptions, though, like Infinity Nikki, which uses ACE but can run smoothly on the Steam Deck. Regardless, if Wuthering Waves manages to launch on the handheld device soon enough, it might become one of the best open-world games on Steam Deck.

It will be interesting to see how Wuthering Waves could solve this compatibility issue, as it could set itself apart from its rivals, Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail, which aren't available on Steam.
