Wuthering Waves has officially revealed the full character banners for its upcoming Version 2.4. Wuthering Waves recently held a special livestream revealing details about its next update, confirming new characters, a new map area, and more.
Kuro Games' hit RPG Wuthering Waves turned one year old on May 22. The game has enjoyed a rather successful first year marked by a PlayStation 5 release, a nomination at The Game Awards, and a Steam debut with very positive reviews. The ongoing Version 2.3 coincided with the game's anniversary and added two new 5-Star characters to the roster, Zani and Ciaccona. Although the former was one of the most anticipated units since the launch of Rinascita, players were even more excited to learn that Wuthering Waves would release Cartethyia in Version 2.4. Now, the developers have confirmed which other characters will join her in her first banner.

During its Version 2.4 special livestream, Wuthering Waves confirmed that Cartethyia's debut banner is scheduled for the first half of the update. Cartethyia is a five-star Aero unit who wields a Sword, and is a strong contender to become the next best DPS in Wuthering Waves. Kuro Games described her as a main damage-dealer whose skills can increase her own power. Her banner will also feature the four-star characters Aalto, Baizhi, and Youhu. The second half of Version 2.4 will debut Lupa, a 5-star Fusion Broadblade character from Septimont, the new explorable area coming to the RPG. Lupa will be joined by the four-stars Sanhua, Taoqi, and Chixia. On the other hand, the update won't feature any rerun banners, which might disappoint some players.

Kuro Games also teased details about Cartethyia and Lupa's gameplay, revealing that Cartethyia can change into Fleurdelys. In this form, she draws more powerful blows on enemies and can walk on water. Meanwhile, Lupa's kit is more team-oriented. When players switch to another character, Lupa remains on the field and helps the unit deal extra damage. Both 5-star characters will have their signature weapons available as well.
The developers confirmed that Version 2.4 will bring two new main story chapters, the first on June 12 and the second on July 3. They will be set in Septimont, a new area in Rinascita that players visit while looking for Cartethyia. The update is also adding Changli and Carlotta's long-awaited skins, as well as new Glider and Wings aspects through the in-game store.
While Wuthering Waves' current patch featured some anniversary events, players found it wasn't as rewarding as they had hoped. For this reason, Wuthering Waves apologized to fans and promised to perform better in future patches. Hopefully for fans, Version 2.4 can live up to their expectations. The patch is launching on June 12 on all available platforms.
