Wuthering Waves’ Depths of Illusive Realm holds many secrets for players to uncover. One of these cryptic features is the New Federation magazines sold by a ghost-like NPC. These magazines can significantly enhance the player’s Echo in an instant.

When acquired, these magazines transform into three different types of Keys. Each key grants their creature a specific Elemental buff. The following guide explains the significance of each item, their uses, and how players can obtain them.

In the Depths of Illusive Realm, Keys are Metaphors that enhance the Echo’s stats. They differ from other upgrades, as they don’t directly provide new abilities or unlock moves. Instead, they yield up to three Elemental Points, facilitating quicker leveling of the Echo. There are three types of Keys in this mode: Tremble, Passion, and Tranquility.

  • Key of Tremble: Upon unlocking the Key of Tremble, the player’s Echo gains three Electro Points. This is ideal for players running a Crownless build in the Illusive Realm, as Electro is its primary enhancement resource. (Grants the effect of Key of Tremor.)
  • Key of Passion: This Key grants three Fusion Points to the user, perfect for an Inferno Rider build. (Grants the effect of Key of Heat.)
  • Key of Tranquility: With the Key of Tranquility, the player obtains three Glacio Points, which can enhance Bell-Borne Geochelone.

How to Get Key of Tremble, Passion, or Tranquility

In the Depths of Illusive Realm, the enhancement Keys can be found in the Memory of Unknown. In this room, there’s a slight chance that the player will encounter Illusia, a shadow who will gift them one of the three Keys. Illusia sells New Federation magazines, each capable of granting the effect of Tremble, Passion, or Tranquility. The player is free to pick one of the three magazines to obtain the desired Metaphor.

Additionally, players can purchase these Elemental Keys from the Transaction NPC. At some point during their exploration, players will come across a seller named Transaction, who offers the Key of Tremor, Key of Heat, and Key of Tranquility. These items can be exchanged for Dream Fragments, and will activate the same effect as the ones found in the Memory of Unknown.

It's crucial to choose the Key that yields the Echo’s Elemental Point. Otherwise, the reward will have little to no effect on the player’s build. As a general rule, pick Tremble for Crownless, Passion for Inferno Rider, and Tranquility for Bell-Borne Geochelone.
