WWE 2K23 has revealed its full roster of playable wrestlers, but Bray Wyatt is nowhere to be found. WWE 2K23 will launch in March, bringing with it a large roster of 178 wrestlers. Those that pre-order the game or purchase the more expensive versions will have an even larger roster of wrestlers to choose from.

By purchasing the WWE 2K23 Icon Edition, players can get the Ruthless Aggression pack, adding Ohio Valley Wrestling variants for Batista, Brock Lesnar, John Cena, and Randy Orton. Meanwhile, WWE 2K23 pre-orders give players access to Bad Bunny, the world-famous musician who has wrestled at multiple WWE events these past few years, including the Royal Rumble and WrestleMania.

The WWE 2K23 roster includes the vast majority of the biggest stars that have been regularly featured on WWE television these past couple of years, with Bray Wyatt being one of the most glaring omissions. Bray Wyatt was one of the most regularly-featured performers on WWE programming for the better part of seven years, both as his Wyatt Family cult leader persona and as the seemingly indestructible Fiend. Unfortunately, Wyatt was released from his WWE contract in the summer of 2021.

Why Bray Wyatt Isn't in WWE 2K23 Explained

WWE 2K20 Bray Wyatt

Wyatt returned to WWE programming in October 2022 at the Extreme Rules event, and he finally made his long-awaited in-ring return at the Royal Rumble this past January in a winning effort against LA Knight as part of the promotion's first-ever Mountain Dew Pitch Black Match. It's possible the base game roster was finalized before Wyatt's return in October, which is what kept him from being part of the game, though an official reason for his absence hasn't been provided at the time of this writing. Notably, Bray Wyatt was not featured on the WWE 2K22 roster either.

Just because Bray Wyatt is not part of the WWE 2K23 roster doesn't mean that he won't be added to the game at some point down the line. WWE 2K22 added more wrestlers to the roster through DLC packs, and it's highly likely WWE 2K23 will be doing the same. Since Wyatt has been a huge focus of WWE television since his return, it would make a lot of sense to capitalize on his popularity through DLC.

In the meantime, some other WWE fans may be disappointed that Sasha Banks is nowhere to be found on the WWE 2K23 roster, though her absence is more expected. Sasha Banks left WWE in 2022 after a dispute over her creative direction and is now signed with New Japan Pro Wrestling, wrestling under the name Mercedes Mone. Sasha Banks' tag team partner Naomi, who left the company with Banks, also didn't make the cut for the WWE 2K23 roster.

WWE 2K23 launches March 17 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
