How to Unlock CM Punk in WWE 2K24

As fans of wrestling giant WWE prepare for the biggest event of the year, Wrestlemania, wrestling game fans also eagerly await the next release in the video game space. March will continue the momentum of Wrestlemania season as WWE 2K24 releases in the first half of the month, with promises of ushering forward a new era in sports simulation gaming.

WWE 2K24 looks to be absolutely packed, with over 200 playable characters to choose from, a host of new match types, and a special Showcase Mode that will celebrate some of the greatest moments in Wrestlemania's 40-year history. Of the stacked roster of superstars, players may be eager to find out how to unlock CM Punk and realize the polarizing star's dream of reclaiming the throne of WWE.

How to Unlock CM Punk In WWE 2K24

Despite his cult-like following, former WWE champion and AEW alum CM Punk is not included in the release day roster for WWE 2K24. The reasons for this are not entirely clear, but it may have been a timing issue. The self-proclaimed Best In The World only returned to the company as a contracted athlete at Survivor Series back on November 26, 2023, so there may not have been time to add him in before finalizing the game. With that said, it is also completely possible that the company, famous for creating drama for the entertainment of their fans, may have delayed his appearance in the game to generate a bigger buzz around the title.

With that said, CM Punk will be included in WWE 2K24's first DLC Pack, titled the ECW Punk Pack. The pack features CM Punk along with some hardcore legends from the ECW era that long-time fans of the sport will be just as eager to see appear. The pack contains the following;

Bubba Ray Dudley
D-Von Dudley
Sandman
Terry Funk
MyFACTION Content
- ECW Paul Heyman Manager Card
- Superstar Cards

That means that, in order to unlock CM Punk as a playable character in WWE 2K24, players will need to purchase the Season Pass, or at the very least the ECW Punk Pack.

Players who purchase the Deluxe or Forty Years of Wrestlemania Editions of WWE 2K24 will have the Season Pass included in their purchase, so they will not need to do anything further.

When Will CM Punk Be Available in WWE 2K24?

While CM Punk's appearance in WWE 2K24 has been confirmed, and he has been included in a pack, players unfortunately won't be able to get their hands on his playable character until the pack releases. The ECW Punk Pack is the first DLC release on the game's roadmap and will be available on May 15, 2024.

While it will be a bit of a wait before the Straight-Edge Superstar can be playable in WWE 2K24, it's not to say that his likeness won't become available before then. Given the wrestler creation feature is a mainstay in WWE games, and in more recently titles there has been the opportunity to download community-created personalities, it is likely that someone will create their own CM Punk for download - that is, if you don't put one together yourself.
