WWE 2K23 delivered an even better and more fully-featured experience than 2K22, with more fleshed-out game modes, a larger roster, and more. WWE 2K24 took things even further, with more polish and more content in modes like MyGM. WWE 2K24 reviews were very positive and there are still fans playing it to this day. Unfortunately for WWE 2K fans, WWE 2K24 is already on the verge of shutting down, not even two years after it was first released.

It's been confirmed that WWE 2K24's servers are shutting down on January 5, 2026, marking a particularly sad day for WWE 2K fans. From that point forward, WWE 2K24's online multiplayer features will no longer be available, and fans will have to be happy with the offline modes. While this is no doubt disappointing for WWE 2K24 fans that have yet to upgrade to WWE 2K25, it's likely not very surprising.

WWE 2K23 servers were shut down in January of this year, while WWE 2K22 was shut down in January 2024. So, once WWE 2K24 servers shut down on January 5, the franchise will be on a three-year streak of shutting servers down in January. The streak will be broken by WWE 2K25, but not by a significant margin.
Besides confirming the WWE 2K24 shutdown date, 2K also revealed when WWE 2K25 will be shutting down. While the shutdown date could change, the current plan is for WWE 2K25 servers to shut down on March 14, 2027. This means the game will last a little longer than its predecessors, but it's still disappointing news.
2K no doubt expects fans to continuously upgrade to the newest WWE 2K game, and since the franchise is on an annual schedule, there should always be one on the market with online features enabled. Unfortunately, fans can expect this trend to continue with future WWE 2K games.
