The WWE 2K series is about honoring WWE’s past as much as it is celebrating its present, with each entry, including the upcoming WWE 2K25, featuring an ever-growing assortment of playable characters from older generations like the “Rock-N-Wrestling” era of the 80s and the Attitude era of the late 90s.
WWE 2K25’s Showcase mode will have plenty of legendary wrestlers for players to unlock due to being centered around the Bloodline and its lineage of famed Samoan superstars like The Rock, Rikishi, Yokozuna, and more. Even outside this celebration of the Anoa’i family’s past and present, WWE 2K25 will include most of the legends that were introduced in previous games’ DLC packages, with more likely being added after it launches on March 14.

WWE 2K25 confirms several new characters that can be unlocked from MyRise and will be available for use in other game modes.
Fans recently gained some clues about what to expect in WWE 2K25’s DLC thanks to a video posted on the game’s official Twitter account. It features a cryptic series of images, like a shot of the Minnesota Capital Building, an arena video screen with a gold #1 on it, a sign of a sombrero in a city marketplace, an image of chains, and a view of the Earth wearing a golden crown. Viewers believe that these could be related to future WWE 2K25 characters, particularly legendary wrestlers from days past that haven’t been featured in a game for some time, if at all.
Cryptic WWE 2K25 Video Hints At DLC
WWE fans have already started making guesses about who these potential WWE 2K25 DLC legends could be. Some of these theories include the crown-wearing Earth being a clue about Psycho Sid (who once called himself the “Ruler of the World”), the chains referencing the ones worn by Junkyard Dog, the marketplace sombrero being meant to evoke Tito Santana, and the “#1” sign being a nod to “Mr. Wonderful” Paul Orndorff.
The Minnesota Capital has some people guessing that former MN Governor Jesse “The Body” Ventura could be coming to WWE 2K25, though others believe that the stripes in the sky could instead reference the late Brian Pillman. Other guesses include Chris Jericho (although he is currently signed with rival promotion AEW), Kane in his original 90s attire, Gangrel, and Torrie Wilson. As everyone tries to figure out the meaning behind this strange video, the base WWE 2K25 is set to take to the ring later this month.
