Summary
- WWE 2K25 offers players 12,500 VC through the new Locker Code CHACHING12500.
- The New Wave DLC pack currently lacks its promised fifth wrestler, soon to be revealed by WWE.
- Some fans criticize the absence of the fifth wrestler and want fewer celebrity wrestlers in future releases.
WWE 2K25 players have a new Locker Code to unlock in the game's MyFaction mode, which will net them a large amount of Virtual Currency. But while having more in-game cash to spend is nice, not all WWE 2K25 players are happy with the circumstances surrounding the free giveaway.
Launched in March, WWE 2K25 saw several additions over last year's iteration of the wrestling game, including an expanded roster, an enhanced MyGM mode, and the release of new features like promos in Universe mode. Despite these changes, WWE 2K25 is getting mixed reviews from fans, continuing a downward trend that has been occurring since the return of the franchise from its year off in 2021.
WWE 2K25 Releases Update 1.09 Patch Notes
WWE 2K25 fixes a major problem with Universe Mode in its latest update, along with providing better performance in the wrestling game.
Players can now claim 12,500 VC by going into the Locker Code section of MyFaction mode and entering the code CHACHING12500. The release of the new code coincides with the launch of WWE 2K25's New Wave DLC pack. This new pack features fresh wrestlers Stephanie Vaquer, Giulia, and the Motor City Machine Guns, Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin, giving players new options to round out their women's singles and men's tag divisions. However, a fifth special celebrity guest wrestler had been promised and is not available in the pack at launch. A post from the game's official Twitter page, which announces the new Locker Code, states that the mystery wrestler will be revealed "in an exciting announcement from WWE in the coming weeks," and its wording suggests that the VC giveaway may be a form of compensation for the delay of the pack's fifth wrestler.
WWE 2K25 All Active Locker Room Codes for May 2025
- WMANIA41Packs - Two WrestleMania 41 Series Volume 2 Packs (Expires May 31, 2025)
- CHACHING12500 - 12,500 Virtual Currency (Expires December 31, 2025.)
Many fans on social media don't seem to be placated by the extra in-game cash provided by the Locker Code and are reacting with surprise that not all five wrestlers will be available at the WWE 2K25 DLC pack's release date. Fans who paid extra for one of the game's special editions' Season Pass inclusions and those who were planning to buy the New Wave DLC pack piecemeal seem dumbfounded by the decision. Some have pointed out that the post states the announcement will be made by WWE itself and not game publisher 2K or developer Visual Concepts, leading them to believe that the wrestling company is withholding the information to draw in additional viewers on television and Netflix.
Others are calling for the game franchise to stop releasing celebrity guest wrestlers altogether, stating that they take up roster slots that could be filled with up-and-coming NXT talent that didn't make the cut for the base game's roster. Last year's additions brought musical artist Post Malone to WWE 2K24 along with multiple commentary team members from ESPN's The Pat McAfee Show. There is another unannounced celebrity wrestler planned for WWE 2K25's third DLC in July, and the pack coming in June will feature three unnamed NBA players making their wrestling game debut.
