Summary
- WWE 2K25 is confirmed for release in Q4 Fiscal 2025, which means it should be out by the end of March.
- The reveal of WWE 2K25 may coincide with the Royal Rumble in 2025.
- Take-Two's financial report does not list any specific platforms for WWE 2K25.
Take-Two has officially confirmed that WWE 2K25 is in development and will be releasing within Q4 Fiscal 2025, which means it should be out by the end of March 2025. While some would think that a new WWE 2K game would be a given considering the fact that it's an annual franchise, there was a time when fans had to go without a new entry in the pro wrestling game series.
As some may recall, WWE 2K20 had a disastrous launch that saw the game earn overwhelmingly negative reviews from fans and critics alike. WWE 2K20 was such a disaster that 2K canceled plans for WWE 2K21, giving the development team extra time to work on WWE 2K22. WWE 2K22 came out swinging and delivered a high-quality gaming experience that has been improved upon in WWE 2K23 and WWE 2K24. The upcoming WWE 2K25 should be another improvement, though it remains to be seen what it's bringing to the table.
September 30 is Going To Be A Sad Day for WWE 2K Fans
Monday, September 30 is set to be a particularly sad day for fans of the WWE 2K wrestling game franchise.
If the most recent WWE 2K games are anything to go by, fans can expect the WWE 2K25 reveal to take place at or around the Royal Rumble in 2025. All we know about it for sure is that it's in development. Notably, Take-Two did not list any platforms for WWE 2K25. The latest WWE 2K games were cross-gen, but the fact that no platforms are mentioned could be an indication that WWE 2K25 is considering a change of pace. Maybe WWE 2K25 will leave the older consoles behind and deliver something that takes proper advantage of the newer systems, but that's still up in the air at this point.
WWE 2K25 Confirmed by Take-Two
Another possibility is that WWE 2K25 could be coming to the Nintendo Switch. The previous two WWE 2K games skipped the Switch, but there is a long history of WWE games on Nintendo platforms, even when they have been underpowered compared to other consoles in that same generation. Visual Concepts and 2K make it a point to release games like NBA 2K25 on the Switch, so it seems like a missed opportunity not to do the same for WWE 2K. Whatever the case may be, fans should find out more about WWE 2K25's targeted platforms when the reveal happens, whether that's at the Royal Rumble next year or some other time.
The information on WWE 2K25 came from Take-Two's latest financial report, which also provided insight on some of the company's other upcoming games. NBA 2K25 was mentioned, as was Civilization 7, Tales of the Shire: A The Lord of the Rings Game, CSR Racing 3, Ken Levine's Judas, and, of course, Grand Theft Auto 6. According to the report, the Grand Theft Auto 6 release date is still set for fall 2025, so next year should be a massive one for Take-Two.
