A major glitch is causing serious problems for WWE 2K25 players trying to recreate the Royal Rumble. WWE 2K25 features many of the match stipulations that WWE fans see on TV, including the Royal Rumble match that only takes place on a special event in January. Normally comprising of 30 superstars, the object of the Royal Rumble match is to be the last participant remaining after throwing every other opponent over the top rope. The winner of the match normally gets to compete for a World Championship title at WrestleMania, as will be the case with 2025 Royal Rumble winners Jey Uso and Charlotte Flair.
The Royal Rumble match has been playable in WWE video games since 1993’s WWF Royale Rumble for the Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis, leading all the way to the most recent WWE 2K25. Winning the Rumble match in WWE 2K25 is every bit as challenging as it is for the actual WWE superstars, with those who enter earlier in the match having to endure a marathon run as they work to eliminate their opponents one at a time. However, some WWE 2K25 players are coming across a strange glitch that makes winning the great battle royal virtually impossible.

Reddit user RealisticBag8290 took to r/WWEGames to complain about a problem they encountered while playing a Royal Rumble match in WWE 2K25’s Universe mode. During the match, participants would inexplicably start eliminating themselves until no one else could join the match, essentially grinding the entire contest to a halt. Other players have reported this same glitch, which they say has caused no shortage of headaches while trying to play through Universe Mode.
WWE 2K25 Glitch Ruins Royal Rumble Matches
Glitches like this are nothing new to WWE games, but many are surprised that this Royal Rumble issue hasn’t been addressed in a recent WWE 2K25 update patch. Some players have pointed out that this seems to be a recurring problem in non-Royal Rumble elimination matches as well. In some of these cases, the match seems to just end after the third elimination, no matter how many participants are still in the ring.
Players have been reporting plenty of other potentially game-breaking WWE 2K25 glitches, as well as strange spelling errors on the ring gear of wrestlers like AJ Styles and CM Punk. WWE 2K25’s new Island mode has also come under scrutiny due to its dependence on a local save file, which could lead to lost progress if it is accidentally deleted or corrupted. WWE 2K25 is one of the highest-rated WWE games in recent memory, but there are still plenty of issues to be addressed by the development team.
