WWE 2K25 makes numerous changes to the series's established formula, and players will encounter a variety of new and returning features as they spend time with the game. One of those changes affects women's matches exclusively, and some players may be surprised that it was not made in previous entries. Specifically, WWE 2K25 depicts women bleeding during their matches, and that is something that has never before appeared in the series.

Blood has been a part of WWE 2K games since the very first title under the moniker, WWE 2K14. Those past entries even feature First Blood matches, in which the winner is the superstar who makes their opponent bleed first. However, those types of matches were only available to male wrestlers in the past, as it was simply not possible for women to bleed. That has all changed with WWE 2K25, though, as female superstars can now bleed during their matches.

Women Can Bleed in WWE 2K25

In an interview with Ring the Belle, Lynell Jinks, WWE 2K25's creative director, revealed that women would both bleed and amass bruises in the series's latest entry. Jinks indicated that this feature would further align WWE 2K25 with the WWE's on-screen product, and he stated that finally being able to include it in a game was "huge" for the development team.

The discrepancy that was created by female superstars bleeding on TV but not in WWE 2K games is something fans of the series have been noting for years. Indeed, players have been quick to point out that, while it may not be extremely common, women do bleed at live events, and an incident on RAW in 2018, in which Nia Jax broke Becky Lynch's nose, is frequently used to emphasize that fact. These players have, in turn, used those instances of blood to argue for adding it to women's matches in the games, and it seems that their voices have now been heard.

Some players have opted to use mods and Community Creations to add blood to women's matches in the past, though they will no longer need to do that additional work after transitioning to WWE 2K25.

Superstars Cannot Bleed in Every Match in WWE 2K25

While women can bleed in WWE 2K25, there are matches during which that cannot occur. Specifically, there is no blood during Intergender matches, which see male and female superstars fight against one another. Notably, Intergender matches are also new in this latest entry, and some players have been asking for the addition of this match type for many years.

It is also worth noting that blood is turned off by default, and players can activate and deactivate the feature whenever they want. This means that players who do not want to see WWE 2K25 superstars bleeding do not have to, as they can simply leave the feature at its default setting. Additionally, players can toggle the setting between matches if there are some in which they want blood to have a chance to appear and others in which they absolutely do not want any bleeding.

WWE 2K25's New Match Types Can Get Bloody

There are two new match types in WWE 2K25, and they are both fitting setups within which superstars can bleed. The first of those types are Underground matches, which can only be won by KO or submission and take place in a ring without ropes. This configuration can lead to some absolutely brutal matches that leave one, or both, of the participants bloody.

The other type are WWE 2K25's Bloodline Rules matches, which have no DQs and allow the superstars to call in up to three allies each. While these matches can end by pinfall before anyone bleeds, the chaos that is created by the constant run-ins, and the absence of disqualifications, can lead to some gruesome moments.
