Summary

  • WWE 2K25 features a humorous bug where The Rock’s elbow disappears during The People's Elbow move.
  • The game includes 365 wrestlers with 6 versions of The Rock, including his 1996, 1997, and 2001 appearances.
  • Players speculate on the missing elbow glitch, linking it to John Cena’s invisible character in WWE 2K23.

WWE 2K25 reportedly includes a pretty humorous graphical bug related to the most electrifying move in sports entertainment. Specifically, while WWE 2K25 lets The People's Champion, The Rock, deliver The People's Elbow on opponents, the elbow itself may disappear entirely.

There are currently 365 wrestlers on WWE 2K25's roster, including DLC characters that aren't unlockable just yet. Six of these roster slots go to Duane "The Rock" Johnson's various appearances throughout his nearly 30-year career, including his initial 1996 run as Blue Chipper Rocky Miavia and an Elite action figure-like version with visible joints and a permanently raised eyebrow on his plastic face. Along with his main entry on the roster are iterations that reflect his appearance from 1997, 2001, and his Final Boss version introduced in 2024.

While Standard Edition players still have to wait until March 14 to dive into the action, some early players who have purchased the Deadman or Bloodline edition of WWE 2K25 have noticed something clearly off about the standard version of The Rock as he performs his patented and highly stylized elbow drop in the center of the ring. Specifically, the problem starts before The Rock begins running the ropes, as he peels off his elbow pad to reveal absolutely nothing underneath. As shared on Reddit by user ConstructionSpare367, the central part of The Rock's arm doesn't appear to have any texturing at all, leaving a transparent gap that makes his forearm look like it's floating around, free of his body.

WWE 2K25 Leaves Out The People's Elbow, Kind Of

The missing but very important part of The Rock's anatomy is causing some players to flash back to the final match of WWE 2K23's Showcase mode. Centered around 16-time world champion John Cena, that year's showcase played on Cena's popular "You can't see me" catchphrase by intentionally adding in an invisible John Cena called Super Cena, with a 100 overall rating. Players could see Cena's hat, shirt, shorts, wristbands, and shoes, but any non-clothing parts were left completely transparent.

Others have used the current WWE storyline to try to explain the obvious programming error. With a win at Elimination Chamber, Cena, who is preparing for retirement, is set for a big championship match at WrestleMania 41 against reigning Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes. Though The Rock had been trying to get Rhodes to literally sell him his soul, the ending of Elimination Chamber saw Cena instead cash in on The Rock's offer and turn heel, attacking Rhodes mercilessly. In the minds of these fans, The People's Elbow is no longer present in the game because it belongs to The People, whom The Rock no longer represents.
