In certain regions, the Microsoft Store has labeled a handful of previously delisted Xbox 360 games as "Coming Soon." It's unclear why this label has been attached to these Xbox 360 games, but fans have a few different theories.
The Xbox 360 is home to over 2000 games, ranging from renowned AAA releases to acclaimed Xbox Live Arcade titles. While just over 600 of these games can still be played on the latest generation of Xbox hardware thanks to backwards compatibility, there are plenty that have been delisted from digital storefronts over the years and lost to time.
Delisted Xbox 360 Games Are "Coming Soon" In Some Regions
On November 2, X user @JBishie posted a screenshot of the Portuguese Microsoft Store. The image shows a total of 17 Xbox 360 games and one original Xbox title, all of which have the label "Em Breve" underneath their key art, which translates to "Coming Soon" in English. This would seemingly imply that these Xbox 360 titles will be arriving on the Microsoft Store in the near future.
While some of these games can still be purchased on the US Microsoft Store (Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, Lost Planet, Deadly Premonition, and Catherine), many were delisted a long time ago, and are now unable to purchase on digital storefronts. In the case of games like Left 4 Dead 1 and 2 and Batman: Arkham Origins, those who still own the original discs can play them on modern Xbox hardware, but those without the physical copies have no way of purchasing or playing them digitally.
It's currently unclear why these particular games have the "Coming Soon" tag in certain regions. In the replies to @JBishie's post, some theorized that the tags' appearance was simply the product of a technical glitch, perhaps due to a backend issue following the Xbox 360 store's shutdown in July 2024. Others are more hopeful that this strange behavior could be a sign that these titles will soon be available to purchase digitally once again, or in the case of Batman: Arkham Origins, for the first time.
On November 22, 2025, the Xbox 360 will turn 20 years old. Though it seems very unlikely, there's a slim possibility that these delisted Xbox 360 games could be a part of some big anniversary celebration. For instance, Microsoft could celebrate the Xbox 360's 20th birthday by adding some beloved 360 titles to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.
