Xbox Game Pass subscribers can now add SOPA - Tale of the Stolen Potato to the list of day one games coming in October 2025. Some Xbox Game Pass subscribers that have been keeping an eye on upcoming games for years may be wondering why it's taken SOPA so long to come to the service, as it was originally expected in 2024.
At the end of 2023, SOPA was confirmed as a day one Xbox Game Pass game with a tentative 2024 release window. SOPA's release window was then narrowed down to August 2024, but ultimately, the game was pushed back, and is just now gearing up for launch. While the delay was quite a long one, hopefully SOPA is worth the wait.

SOPA will be added to PC Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate on October 7 when it launches as a day one release. For those unfamiliar with the game, SOPA is the story of Miho, who goes to the pantry to get a potato for his grandmother and winds up in a mysterious fantasy world based on South America. The short adventure game has players solving puzzles, finding collectibles, and meeting an intriguing cast of characters. SOPA has long looked impressive, and Game Pass subscribers will get to try it for themselves come October 7.
SOPA coming to Game Pass on October 7 makes an already-stacked month that much more exciting. The Xbox Game Pass October 2025 lineup is ridiculous, with Ball x Pit coming October 15, Keeper joining the lineup on October 17, Ninja Gaiden 4 coming on October 21, Bounty Star and Moonlighter 2 launching on October 23, and finally, The Outer Worlds 2 releasing on October 29. Needless to say, there should definitely be no shortage of exciting new day one releases for Game Pass subscribers to play when it comes to the new releases launching in October.
The downside is that the first week of October will seemingly only have SOPA and no other new game releases, but all the day one releases coming in the second half of the month should more than make up for it. In the meantime, there are still some new Xbox Game Pass games coming in September, and November is starting to take shape as well. Football Manager 26 is coming on November 4, while the blockbuster Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will join Game Pass as a day one game on November 14.
