Xbox Game Pass is losing three titles today, including the critically acclaimed Persona 3 Reload. This trio will mark the first wave of departures from the subscription service in August 2025, a month that's still on course to be an overall net positive for Xbox Game Pass.
Since the beginning of 2025, Microsoft hasn't deviated from its usual pattern of pulling titles from the XGP library every two weeks. The latest of these catalog rotations occurred on July 31, when Xbox Game Pass lost Turnip Boy Robs a Bank, Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess, and Gigantic.
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Adds Its 100th Game for 2025
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate adds its 100th new title for 2025, which arrives in the form of a recently launched early access game.
Another three titles are now set to follow suit later today. The August 15 Xbox Game Pass departures include Persona 3 Reload, Farming Simulator 22, and Anthem. Based on critical reception, Persona 3 Reload is by far the biggest loss from this batch, being one of the highest-rated titles currently available on the service. The Atlus-developed JRPG also had the shortest tenure on Game Pass out of the trio, joining the catalog in February 2024. In contrast, Farming Simulator 22 and Anthem have been available for approximately three and five years, respectively.

The forthcoming removal of Farming Simulator 22 is alleviated by the fact that Farming Simulator 25 was just added to Xbox Game Pass on August 1. Meanwhile, the departure of Anthem follows Electronic Arts' announcement that BioWare’s live-service RPG will shut down on January 12, 2026. Achievement hunters who are in the habit of rushing through titles before they leave Xbox Game Pass to up their Gamerscore totals won't be feasibly able to do so this time around, at least if they haven't already started any of the soon-to-be-departing games, all of which happen to be packed to the brim with content.
Atlas Fallen Seemingly Isn't Leaving Xbox Game Pass Today
Earlier this month, an in-game notice in Atlas Fallen claimed the ARPG would be part of the August 15 wave of Xbox Game Pass removals. However, the game was subsequently omitted from Microsoft's official departure announcement, and the notification itself has since disappeared. While Atlas Fallen thus doesn't appear to be leaving momentarily, the development suggests its removal is still imminent and that the initial message was simply premature. Microsoft often licenses Game Pass titles for one year, and with the RPG originally added in late August 2024, it could plausibly be included in the August 31 wave of removals.
