Xbox Game Pass is losing at least three games in July 2023, including the critically-acclaimed Spelunky 2. While it's true that Microsoft is constantly adding new games to the Xbox Game Pass lineup, games are removed from the service on a regular basis as well. Typically, Xbox Game Pass games are removed on two distinct days: the 15th of each month and the last day of each month.

It's always a bummer whenever games are removed from the Xbox Game Pass lineup, but the good news is Microsoft usually gives subscribers plenty of advanced notice so they can prioritize playing the games leaving the service. The full list of games getting removed from Xbox Game Pass are usually announced alongside the list of new games that are being added. Microsoft has yet to make this announcement, likely due to the 4th of July holiday, but the Game Pass app has updated to clue fans in on the three games that are likely getting removed come July 15.

The Xbox Game Pass Leaving Soon section has been updated to include PAW Patrol: Adventure City Calls, Exo One, and Spelunky 2. While specifics have yet to be officially announced, it is highly likely that the three games will be removed on July 15. Anyone wanting to keep any of these three games for their collection can buy them at a 20% discount while they are still part of Xbox Game Pass.

Out of the three games leaving Xbox Game Pass in July 2023, Spelunky 2 is definitely the most notable. Spelunky 2 was first released as a PlayStation 4 exclusive in 2020 before making its way to other platforms. It took nearly two years for Spelunky 2 to finally release on Xbox platforms, but its availability through Xbox Game Pass has made it highly accessible to Xbox gamers. Spelunky 2 was one of the highest-rated games of 2020 and so it's particularly sad to see it getting removed from the Xbox Game Pass lineup, but anyone that has yet to play the highly-reviewed game likely still has a couple of weeks to try it out.

Xbox Game Pass subscribers may also want to try PAW Patrol: Adventure City Calls and Exo One while they still can as well. PAW Patrol: Adventure City Calls probably won't provide much entertainment to anyone that's not a child, but it is a good game for achievement hunting purposes. Exo One, meanwhile, is a well-reviewed game about flying an alien spaceship that may have a bit more appeal to older gamers.
