Microsoft's Xbox Game Pass service adds new games on a regular basis, and in fact, the company has just revealed 13 new games coming to Xbox Game Pass over the next couple of weeks. But while new games make their way to Xbox Game Pass all the time, titles are removed from the service occasionally as well. Typically these game removals happen in the middle and end of each month, and now it's been confirmed the games that are leaving Xbox Game Pass on September 30, 2021.

Five games in total will be leaving Xbox Game Pass on September 30, 2021, and they are as follows: Drake Hollow, Kathy Rain, Ikenfell, Night in the Woods, and Warhammer: Vermintide 2. Out of these games, the one that may be the biggest loss for Xbox Game Pass is Night in the Woods, though anyone interested in any of these titles may want to prioritize playing them before they're given the boot at the end of the month.

Night in the Woods is an adventure game that originally released in 2017 and earned widespread critical acclaim. Night in the Woods won numerous awards at the time of its release and is generally regarded as one of the finer indie games of recent years. It's a relatively short experience as well, so anyone interested in playing it should have plenty of time to do so before Night in the Woods is removed from Xbox Game Pass on September 30.

In the meantime, there's still one more day for Xbox Game Pass subscribesr to check out the other Game Pass games leaving in September 2021. While Red Dead Online left Xbox Game Pass a couple of days earlier on September 13, a couple of other high profile Game Pass releases will remain on the service until Wednesday, September 15, at which point they will be removed and replaced by new games.

One of these games is Forza Motorsport 7, and its removal may come as a surprise to some subscribers since it's an Xbox-published game. However, racing games are often removed from digital marketplaces over time due to licensing issues, and so Forza Motorsport 7 is being delisted entirely. Once September 15 rolls around, anyone interested in Forza Motorsport 7 will have to buy a physical copy because the digital version is being scrubbed from the Xbox Live Marketplace and Game Pass.

The other high profile game being removed from Xbox Game Pass on September 15 is Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales, a spin-off of CD Projekt Red's popular Witcher franchise. There may not be enough time left to get through Thronebreaker or The Witcher, but Xbox Game Pass subscribers have the opportunity to buy the games at a discount if they so desire.
