Ashes of the Singularity: Escalation Is Leaving Xbox Game Pass After 2 Years
But it turns out that this list was incomplete, as Microsoft's official announcement of the first wave of September 2024 Xbox Game Pass releases mentioned one more mid-month departure in the form of Ashes of the Singularity: Escalation. The 4X RTS has been part of the XGP content catalog for two years, having originally reached it in September 2022. The other five games set to leave the subscription service on September 15 are You Suck at Parking, SpiderHeck, Slime Rancher 2, Payday 3, and FIFA 23. Unlike these five titles, Ashes of the Singularity: Escalation is a PC-only game, meaning it is only available via PC Game Pass and the Ultimate tier of the service.

With six titles being set to leave all at once, September 15 will mark a fairly large substantial wave of departures for the service. The only time that Microsoft removed more games in a single day since the turn of the year was back in mid-May 2024, when Xbox Game Pass lost eight titles.
The good news for Microsoft's subscribers is that the service will compensate for these removals, as it already has seven confirmed releases for September 2024. The first of those arrived on September 3, when Xbox Game Pass added Star Trucker, a sci-fi trucking sim made by English developer Monster and Monster.
Moving forward, Age of Mythology: Retold and Expeditions: A MudRunner Game are both scheduled to launch over the two-day period ending September 5, and will be followed by Ubisoft's Riders Republic six days later. Xbox Game Pass will then receive three day-one releases in the second half of September 2024: Train Sim World 5, Frostpunk 2, and Ara: History Untold.
