Xbox Game Pass Already Has 5 Games Confirmed for September 2024

At the time of this writing, there are five games for Xbox Game Pass subscribers to look forward to in September 2024.

The next wave of Xbox Game Pass departures has now been announced for September 15. According to the "Leaving Soon" section of the XGP app, five titles will be removed from Microsoft's on-demand game library on that day: FIFA 23, Payday 3, Slime Rancher 2, SpiderHeck, and You Suck at Parking. Payday 3 had the shortest Xbox Game Pass stint from this group, as it was only added to the service back in September 2023. Meanwhile, FIFA 23 first became available to Microsoft's subscribers four months earlier, whereas the You Suck at Parking, Slime Rancher 2, and SpiderHeck have all been part of the XGP library since September 2022.

Long-time Xbox Game Pass members have hence already had plenty of chances to complete these soon-to-be-departing titles. Everyone else still has more than enough time to do so, as the majority of them can be beaten in just a few days each.

SpiderHeck is the most critically acclaimed release from the mid-September 2024 wave of Xbox Game Pass departures, as underlined by its "Mighty" OpenCritic rating derived from an impressive 83% reviewer recommendation rate and an aggregate score of 85. Developed by Latvian one-man studio Neverjam, SpiderHeck is a quirky fighting game that lets players control laser sword-wielding spiders in order to sow chaos. Aside from offering a single-player experience, it also supports local and online co-op multiplayer for up to four people.

This upcoming wave of departures will offset all of the previously confirmed Xbox Game Pass releases for September 2024. The first of those, Star Trucker, is scheduled to debut on September 3, and will be followed by Age of Mythology: Retold a day later. Train Sim World 5 is then slated to reach the service on September 17, three days before Frostpunk 2 does the same. September 24 will then see Ara: History Untold launch as a day-one PC Game Pass title. Microsoft is expected to announce even more September 2024 XGP releases in the days ahead, with Ubisoft's Riders Republic being rumored to be one of them.
