Rare exceptions aside, Microsoft's subscription service usually follows a predictable schedule for removing games, with such rotations typically happening every 15 days. The most recent of these catalog updates happened on April 15, when Xbox Game Pass lost seven titles, including Homestead Arcana, Turbo Golf Racing, and Harold Halibut.
Day-One Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Game Gets July 2025 Release Date
Following a newly shared release date announcement, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate now has two confirmed day-one titles for July 2025.
Another seven titles are now set to follow suit later today, April 30, when Xbox Game Pass will lose EA Sports NHL 23, Have a Nice Death, and Kona 2: Brume. Sniper Elite 5 and The Last Case of Benedict Fox are also on the list of forthcoming departures, as are The Rewinder and Thirsty Suitors. Sniper Elite 5 had the longest run on the service among these titles, having first joined the Xbox Game Pass catalog in May 2022. Subscribers who enjoy the series' gameplay loop can attempt to fill the SE5-shaped void with Sniper Elite: Resistance, which was added to Xbox Game Pass back in January 2025.

While most of the titles from the April 30 batch of departures aren't overly long, beating any single one of them in a single day is still not really feasible for most. The Rewinder and Kona 2: Brume might be possible within that time frame, but only for the most dedicated achievement hunters. EA Sports NHL 23 is the only title from this roster not available through Xbox Game Pass Standard, as it’s part of the EA Play catalog, which is exclusive to the PC and Ultimate tiers of the service.
Xbox Game Pass Added as Many Games as It Lost in April 2025
Following this upcoming library update, the total number of April 2025 Xbox Game Pass departures will rise to 14. In other words, Microsoft's subscription service will lose just as many games as it added over the course of the past month. Despite missing out on monthly net gains, Xbox Game Pass had a strong April, introducing multiple titles that are critically acclaimed, massively successful, or both. These include Blue Prince, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Grand Theft Auto 5, and The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered.
Moving forward, Microsoft's subscription service has six confirmed games for May. Next month's batch starts with Anno 1800 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, both of which are arriving on May 1. Dredge, Revenge of the Savage Planet, Doom: The Dark Ages, and To A T are also coming to Xbox Game Pass in May 2025.
