Summary

  • Barbie Project Friendship joined Xbox Game Pass.
  • Kingdom Two Crowns is now also available on PC Game Pass, some four months after launching on other (non-Core) tiers of the service.
  • Five more titles are coming to Xbox Game Pass in the next six days.

Xbox Game Pass has added Barbie Project Friendship to its ever-expanding library, marking the fifth new title to join the subscription service since the beginning of June 2025. It arrives alongside one other addition to the PC Game Pass content catalog.

Developed by Xaloc Studios and Casual Brothers, Barbie Project Friendship is an adventure game taking place in Mattel's iconic rendition of Malibu, which players are free to explore. It includes a variety of mini-games and activities, as well as an optional couch co-op mode. Released for PC and consoles in late October 2024, the game didn't attract much attention from critics at launch. In terms of player impressions, Barbie Project Friendship presently holds "Mostly Positive" reviews on Steam and a 3.6-star user rating on the Xbox Store.

Xbox Game Pass Reaches Incredible Subscriber Milestone

Xbox Game Pass reportedly hits another major subscriber milestone, though the exact timing of this achievement appears to be debatable.

Seven and a half months following its original debut, Barbie Project Friendship made its way to Xbox Game Pass on June 11. Its arrival on Microsoft's subscription service coincides with the addition of Kingdom Two Crowns to the PC Game Pass catalog. The 2018 kingdom-building strategy game has already been available to console users since February 2025, when it was first added to Xbox Game Pass. Much like Barbie Project Friendship, Kingdom Two Crowns offers optional local multiplayer, though it also supports online co-op in addition to its split-screen counterpart. The strategy game has "Very Positive" Steam reviews and a 78 average rating on OpenCritic.

Since neither of them are day-one releases, Kingdom Two Crowns and Barbie Project Friendship are now available across all the non-Core tiers of Microsoft's subscription service. They mark the middle point of the Xbox Game Pass Wave 1 lineup for June 2025, which includes five other titles that are yet to be made available. The first of those is EA Sports FC 25, which is coming to PC Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate tomorrow, June 12. The Alters is then scheduled to arrive a day later, followed by a trio of releases on June 17: Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time, Lost in Random: The Eternal Die, and FBC: Firebreak.

This month's Wave 2 lineup is expected to be officially announced on or around June 17. It's already known to include the console version of dark fantasy city builder Against the Storm and Rematch, a multiplayer soccer game from Sifu developer Sloclap. The ongoing Xbox Game Pass hot streak is then set to continue in July with at least three day-one releases: Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, and the recently announced Grounded 2.

In the meantime, Xbox Game Pass will lose seven titles on June 15. These include Dordogne, My Time at Sandrock, and Rolling Hills: Make Sushi, Make Friends.
