Prices of Xbox Game Pass tiers rose across the board recently, with the service's most expensive tier, Ultimate, now costing $19.99 a month compared to its previous $16.99 monthly rate. These price changes were adopted in September, or the same month Microsoft laid off around 650 employees in its gaming division.
The gaming giant also removed the mid-range Game Pass for Console tier and replaced it with a new Standard level. The latter does not give subscribers access to day-one releases, a feature that is heavily associated with Xbox Game Pass.
