April was an excellent month for Xbox Game Pass subscribers, and May seems to be following a similar path. Earlier this month, titles such as Anno 1880, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, and Dredge were added to Xbox Game Pass, offering subscribers a wide selection of genres to choose from.
The Best Games On Xbox Game Pass (January 2026)
Xbox Game Pass is unquestionably worth the subscription fee, but which of the available games are the best use of your hard drive space?
Now, Xbox Game Pass has added Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 to the service's Ultimate tier, and Dungeons of Hinterberg, Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn, and Metal Slug Tactics to Game Pass Standard. In Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, gamers can play as many characters from the popular franchise in what is widely considered to be a top-tier title for long-time Dragon Ball fans. Another highlight is Dungeons of Hinterberg, which was a day one release on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate last year, and currently holds an average critic score of 81 on OpenCritic. Both Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn and Metal Slug Tactics were originally added to Game Pass Ultimate on day one in 2024, as well, and currently hold scores of 69 and 76, respectively.
Titles Releases on Xbox Game Pass on May 7
- Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 (Xbox Game Pass Ultimate)
- Dungeons Of Hinterberg (Xbox Game Pass Standard)
- Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn (Xbox Game Pass Standard)
- Metal Slug Tactics (Xbox Game Pass Standard)
The month is still early, though, and subscribers will gain access to plenty of additional titles soon. For instance, Kulebra and the Souls of Limbo is coming to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate on May 16. Described by some as “Paper Mario meets Grim Fandango,” this title will feature a Latin American-inspired interpretation of the afterlife.
The biggest highlight of the month is the release of DOOM: The Dark Ages on the Xbox Game Pass. The first-party Microsoft title will be released as a day one game, and it’ll work as a prequel to the original 2016 DOOM, offering unique mechanics for players, such as using a shield.
Additionally, Xbox Game Pass is losing eight games on May 15. The list includes Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, Chants of Sennaar, Dune: Spice Wars, Hauntii, Jurassic World Evolution 2, Little Kitty, Big City, Planet of Lana, and The Big Con. Some of these titles, such as Planet of Lana or the puzzle game Chants of Sennaar, are generally very well-regarded by critics. Fortunately, most of the eight games leaving the service can be completed in less than 10 hours, so gamers will still have the time to try them if they want to.
