As of the time of this writing, the only new Xbox Game Pass game for October 2024 that subscribers know about is Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. A fresh batch of games comes to Xbox Game Pass every month, and typically, more games are added to the service than get the boot. Unfortunately, that can't be said for the Xbox Game Pass September 2024 lineup.
10 games were added to Xbox Game Pass throughout September 2024, with the latest being Ara: History Untold. By the time it's all said and done, 14 games will have left Game Pass in September 2024. This is definitely disappointing, and the hope is that October 2024 won't be a repeat, but as it stands, only one game is confirmed for the service next month.

Set to launch on October 25, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is developed by Treyarch and features the franchise's signature single-player campaign, PvP multiplayer, and co-op Zombies modes. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will undoubtedly be one of the biggest new game releases of the entire year, and so it coming to Xbox Game Pass on day one is a massive "get" for the service. However, there is a catch when it comes to Black Ops 6 joining the Game Pass lineup.

Recently, Microsoft changed the Xbox Game Pass tiers so that most day one games are only available to those signed up for the Ultimate tier, PC Game Pass subscribers, or Game Pass for Consoles subscribers that have existing subscriptions. New subscribers on consoles that sign up for the Standard tier will miss out on day one games, including Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. This is unfortunate, but since Game Pass Ultimate also gives subscribers access to online multiplayer, chances are most people planning on playing the new Call of Duty on Xbox will be signed up for that tier anyway.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 may currently be the only game confirmed for Xbox Game Pass in October 2024, but it will almost certainly be joined by many other titles. What those games are remains to be seen, but fans should get an announcement about the Xbox Game Pass October 2024 Wave 1 games at some point next week. Of course, some games will leave Xbox Game Pass in October 2024 as well, but hopefully the new additions outnumber the departures this time around.
