MMORPG Pax Dei is now available on Xbox Game Pass. This is the 57th title to reach the subscription service in October 2025, as well as the 179th Xbox Game Pass release since the beginning of the year.
Pax Dei—which translates to "god's peace" from Latin—is an open-world MMORPG developed by Mainframe Industries, a Helsinki-based studio staffed by veterans of Blizzard, Ubisoft, and Remedy. Described as a social sandbox, it emphasizes community-building and immersiveness. Players can claim any unoccupied plot of land as their own, and if that ground happens to be in the vicinity of another parcel, the two will combine. With enough neighbors banded together, their properties will turn into a village, then a town, and eventually a massive fortress. The game's open world has no NPC settlements, further underlining its community focus. Pax Dei launched as an early access title in June 2024.

Pax Dei 1.0 Launches on Xbox Game Pass
The 1.0 version of the social MMO is officially available as of today, October 16, having rolled out at 11am ET. Pax Dei can be played via Steam, Microsoft Store, and Xbox Game Pass. While Microsoft's subscription service often treats 1.0 releases as day-one titles, reserving them for PC- and Ultimate-tier subscribers, that isn't the case this time around, with Pax Dei also being playable via the recently launched Xbox Game Pass Premium membership, which now exists in place of XGP Standard. The full-fledged release was preceded by a server wipe, meaning everyone is starting from scratch. Some new gameplay mechanics and balancing tweaks were introduced as part of the 1.0 build, as per its official patch notes.
Pax Dei Is Streamable, But Not Via Xbox Game Pass
Unlike most Xbox Game Pass titles, Pax Dei doesn't ship with Xbox Cloud Gaming support. That's in spite of the fact that it can be streamed via other cloud services, including GeForce Now, Shadow, Boosteroid, and AirGPU. The discrepancy likely comes down to two factors: Pax Dei is a PC exclusive, and Xbox Cloud Gaming infrastructure is built entirely on modified Series X consoles. Another caveat with this release is that Pax Dei requires a subscription of at least $6.99 per month to maintain one's own plot of land. Without it, players can only work with plots owned by others. This isn't necessarily a deal-breaker, but it limits one's options.
Six more titles are currently confirmed to be coming to Xbox Game Pass before the end of October 2025. Double Fine's Keeper will launch on October 17, followed by Ninja Gaiden 4 and Evil West four days later. Bounty Star and PowerWash Simulator 2 will then arrive on October 23, with The Outer Worlds 2 rounding off this month's confirmed lineup on October 29.

With the Wave 2 roster for October 2025 still officially unannounced, some yet-to-be-revealed titles may be added to the service in the coming weeks. Even so, the Xbox Game Pass releases already confirmed for the second half of the month are spaced out relatively evenly, so surprises might be sparse.
