- Former Typhoon Studios members founded Raccoon Logic to continue Savage Planet sequel development.
- Xbox Game Pass offers Revenge of the Savage Planet, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and more new games in May 2025.
Xbox Game Pass has added another day-one title to the service, this time the zany sci-fi adventure Revenge of the Savage Planet. The sequel to 2020’s Journey to the Savage Planet, Raccoon Logic’s debut project delivers more of the brightly colored environments, satire, and live-action commercials that defined the first game, and it is now available for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC subscribers to enjoy.
Google shut down its Stadia Games and Entertainment division in 2021. Staff of subsidiary Typhoon Studios, the developer of Journey to the Savage Planet, left the company and founded Raccoon Logic just six months later. They secured the rights to the Savage Planet IP and continued work on the sequel that they had started at Typhoon. The result is a game that is already being praised for its charming and fun romp through an alien world, and Revenge of the Savage Planet is currently receiving mostly positive reviews from media outlets.
Xbox Game Pass Reveals New Games Coming in May 2025
Microsoft highlights the new games that are coming to the Xbox Game Pass subscription service in May 2025.
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC members won’t need to dole out any extra cash to jump into the fray, either, as Revenge of the Savage Planet launched on Microsoft's subscription service on May 8. Like its predecessor, Revenge offers both a single-player and multiplayer experience, including couch co-op and cross-platform play. Whether wreaking havoc with friends or winging it solo, the game features four distinct worlds, each with unique flora and fauna, to scan, catalog, and explore.

Xbox Game Pass has been on fire for the past month, with The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 launching on the service within days of each other. The former was a surprise drop that instantly had fans of Bethesda’s iconic RPG series rethinking their weekend plans, and the latter was immediately tossed into the pot as a likely game of the year candidate. Clair Obscur, in particular, has some of the highest user ratings of all time, and Game Pass Ultimate members were able to play it on day one at no additional charge.
But there was still more to come. On May 7, Xbox Game Pass unexpectedly added four titles to its lineup: Dungeons of Hinterberg, Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, and Metal Slug Tactics. And on May 8, along with Revenge of the Savage Planet, subscribers of all tiers gained access to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants Unleashed, a 3D action-adventure game set in the universe of 2023’s Mutant Mayhem film. And there is plenty more for Game Pass subscribers to look forward to in May.
