Xbox Game Pass has been around a lot longer than many fans might realize. Launching on June 2017, Xbox Game Pass has been providing one of the best deals in gaming for over six years now, and while there have certainly been some stumbles along the way, there have also been some major wins for the service. That's never been more true than now.

Generally speaking, 2023 has been a bit of a mixed bag for Xbox Game Pass. Though the year started off extremely well with a strong showing for January, Xbox Game Pass soon lost its momentum, and fans began pinning all of their hopes on Redfall's release in May. Of course, Redfall would suffer a disastrous launch, and ever since, Xbox Game Pass has failed to redeem itself properly, with just one or two big-name titles hitting the service since. But that's all about to change, and September 2023 is shaping up to be potentially one of the greatest months Xbox Game Pass has ever had.

September 2023 Could Be Xbox Game Pass' Biggest Month Ever

Xbox Game Pass has had some phenomenal months over the last six years, bringing heavy hitter after heavy hitter to the service. August 2021 is a great example of this, bringing Hades, Quake, 12 Minutes, and Psychonauts 2 to Xbox Game Pass. November 2022 is another iconic month for Xbox Game Pass, delivering Return to Monkey Island, Vampire Survivors, Pentiment, Battlefield 2042, and Warhammer 40K: Darktide. January 2023 has been another one of Xbox Game Pass' best months, with Persona 3 Portable, Persona 4 Golden, Monster Hunter Rise, GoldenEye 007, Hi-Fi Rush, and Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition all coming to the service.

It's months like these that have continually cemented Xbox Game Pass as one of the greatest deals in gaming, and though the last few months haven't lived up to the sheer quantity and quality of these past examples, September 2023 is about to pick up the slack. Thanks to a surprisingly stacked recent Xbox Showcase, fans now have a much better idea of what's coming to Xbox Game Pass for the rest of the year, and September 2023 already has four heavy hitters lined up.

Up first is Starfield, not only one of the most anticipated Xbox games of the year, but one of the most anticipated video games of all time. Proving that it's still at the top of the western RPG world, Bethesda promises that Starfield will be worth the wait, and based on the impressive 45-minute gameplay deep-dive, that does seem to be the case. A vast number of planets to explore, extensive ship customization and character creation systems, and a slew of refined RPG features, Starfield looks like it could end up being the game that everyone is hoping it could be. It's on Xbox Game Pass this September.

Just a few weeks later, Lies of P is set to hit Xbox Game Pass. A Soulslike that finally gives Bloodborne fans the gothic fix they've been after all these years, Lies of P looks extremely promising, and those that have played the demo seem to be walking away with very positive first impressions. Just a few days later, Payday 3 makes its way to Xbox Game Pass. A sequel 10 years in the making, Payday 3 looks set to deliver another intense co-op heist experience that will undoubtedly have fans playing for years. Finally, there's Party Animals, the physics-based multiplayer brawler that's already a favorite in certain Twitch communities.

That's only the games currently confirmed. With these four big games already confirmed, and presumably a few more waiting to be revealed, Xbox Game Pass already has quite the impressive September 2023 ahead of it.
