Xbox has added a new lineup of games to its "Stream Your Own Game" program, including Borderlands 2, Nier: Automata, and even the freshly released MindsEye. Part of Xbox Game Pass' Ultimate tier of benefits, the program allows Xbox fans to stream games that they own on the go using Xbox's Cloud Gaming tech. It's a solid option for gamers who've yet to get their hands on one of the new handheld devices that can run games natively.
Xbox's Stream Your Own Game program is fairly new, having begun earlier this year. June has already seen Xbox add a huge 22-game batch of titles for Game Pass Ultimate subscribers to stream, such as Tom Clancy's The Division, Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition, Just Cause 4, and nearly the entire Life is Strange series. While most games that have been added to the program are well suited for cloud gaming, others, like Mortal Kombat X and Just Dance, are more questionable additions that require stronger connections.
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Adds 22 More 'Stream Your Own Game' Titles
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can take advantage of the latest batch of titles added to Xbox's "Stream Your Own Game" program.
Xbox isn't done adding more Stream Your Own Game titles in June, as it has made another batch available. A smaller list of 15 games this time, this lineup is arguably harder-hitting and includes more timely games than the additions from earlier in the month. Headlining the list are games like MindsEye, which was just released on June 10, the Xbox 360-era classic Borderlands 2, just in time for Borderlands 4 later this year, Nier: Automata, and Final Fantasy 16, which just made its way to Xbox gamers two weeks ago.
Xbox Adds 15 More 'Stream Your Own Game' Titles
- Back 4 Blood
- Borderlands 2
- Date Everything!
- Dordogne
- Final Fantasy 16
- Isonzo
- Lego 2K Drive
- Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita's Revenge
- MindsEye
- My Time at Sandrock
- Nier: Automata
- Slayers X: Terminal Aftermath
- The First Descendant
- Tour de France 2025
- Valheim
This new lineup offers a small handful of multiplayer-centric titles as well, like The First Descendant, Valheim, and Turtle Rock Studios' Back 4 Blood. As an ongoing Destiny-like live service game, The First Descendant is an excellent choice for the Stream You Own Game program, as it often requires players to log in and complete daily challenges for rewards, which is perfect for on-the-go gamers. Survival sandbox game Valheim is also an excellent multiplayer addition to the program, but Back 4 Blood is a more questionable choice. As an online first-person shooter, Back 4 Blood requires a bit more precise timing than most of the games on the list, and those who play via cloud may run into exacerbated latency issues.
It seems that Xbox is going to be constantly updating its Stream Your Own Game program with new titles as time goes on, which is unsurprising considering its huge "Play Anywhere" push. With tons of Xbox games making their way to PlayStation and Xbox's ROG Ally device coming later this year, it's never been more clear that there are more ways to play Xbox games than ever before.
