Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Adds Its First 2 Day-One Games for October 2025

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate has added Little Rocket Lab and SOPA - Tale of the Stolen Potato to its content catalog. These are the first two day-one titles to reach the service in October 2025, bringing the total number of this year's Xbox Game Pass Ultimate additions to 172.

SOPA - Tale of the Stolen Potato is a family-friendly 3D adventure with a South American setting radiating magic realism. It is inspired by The Little Prince, as well as hit animated feature films such as Coco and Spirited Away. Developer-publisher StudioBando confirmed SOPA as a day-one Xbox Game Pass title back in late 2023. The game was originally targeting a Q2 2024 launch but ended up slipping several times, most recently after missing its August 2025 release window.

Little Rocket Lab and SOPA Join Xbox Game Pass Ultimate

SOPA - Tale of the Stolen Potato has at last materialized earlier today, October 7, arriving on PC, consoles, and Microsoft's subscription service. Another day-one title in the form of Little Rocket Lab has also launched on Xbox Game Pass alongside it. Developed by Canada-based Teenage Astronauts, Little Rocket Lab is a factory automation game with some life sim and RPG elements, offering features such as quests and a social link system. While mechanically different, Little Rocket Lab and SOPA have some tonal overlap, as both are likely to appeal to fans of cozy games.

SOPA and Little Rocket Lab are the first two day-one additions to Microsoft's subscription service in October 2025. In a typical month, they'd also be among the first overall, but Xbox Game Pass Ultimate just had its largest content drop ever on October 1, receiving 48 new titles out of the blue. The majority of them are older Ubisoft games that are normally part of the Ubisoft+ Classics subscription service, which Microsoft added to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate while also raising its price to $29.99, a 50% increase. The move proved to be controversial among fans, sparking a wave of cancellations so immense that the cancellation site was having trouble keeping up with the traffic, sporadically becoming unresponsive throughout October 1.

When Will SOPA and Little Rocket Lab Come to Xbox Game Pass Premium?

The latest Xbox Game Pass price hike was part of a wider restructuring that introduced two new membership tiers—Essential and Premium, which have replaced Core and Standard, respectively. Neither tier includes day-one releases, though Microsoft has pledged to bring such titles to the Premium tier within 12 months of launch. SOPA and Little Rocket Lab are thus expected to join Xbox Game Pass Premium no later than early October 2026.

Several more day-one titles are confirmed to be coming to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate in October 2025. These include Ball x Pitt, Keeper, and Ninja Gaiden 4, as well as The Outer Worlds 2, Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault, and Bounty Star.
