Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Adds A 2023 Hit Game
EA Sports FC 24 is now available on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, marking the 11th new title added to Microsoft's subscription service in June 2024 and the 81st addition this year. EA ended its three-decade partnership with FIFA in 2022 and launched EA Sports FC 24 in September 2023, making it the first entry in its new football simulation series. The game was added to Xbox Game Pass on June 25, requiring the EA Play add-on, available to PC Game Pass and Ultimate-tier members.
From now until October 31, Saw and The Devil's Rejects are free for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers. First released in 2004, the original Saw movie is considered one of the most influential indie horror films of all time. It kicked off a franchise that's still going strong today, with a new Saw film set to launch next year. The Devil's Rejects, meanwhile, is the sequel to cult classic House of 1000 Corpses and remembered fondly as one of the best horror movies of the 2000s. It was followed by 3 from Hell, which was released in 2019, but not nearly as well-received as its predecessors.

This isn't the first time that Xbox Game Pass Ultimate has given subscribers free horror movies. As some may recall, a similar promotion happened last year around the same time, when The Texas Chainsaw Massacre was free to claim. Getting free horror movies through Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is seemingly becoming an October tradition, and it will be interesting to see if the trend continues next Halloween season.
Free horror movies are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the Xbox Game Pass October 2024 offerings. Ultimate subscribers can also check out the new game additions, which include MLB The Show 24, Open Roads, Sifu, Mad Streets, and Inscryption. Inscryption is a deckbuilding roguelike horror game that should make a perfect match for the free horror movies.
Microsoft has yet to reveal the new Xbox Game Pass games coming in the second half of October 2024, but we do know that Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be one of them. Black Ops 6 is not a horror game by any means, but its co-op Zombies mode should still help scratch that horror itch.
