On the day of its release, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is now available for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers to download and play at no additional cost. Aside from PC Game Pass, the Ultimate tier of Xbox's popular subscription service has become the only tier that offers subscribers new day-one games, like Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, STALKER 2, and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. At $20 per month, subscribers can utilize cloud gaming and also gain access to EA Play and other fun perks.
After Xbox's buyout of Activision Blizzard concluded in 2023, several high-profile games from the publisher began landing on Xbox Game Pass as a result. Earlier this year, Blizzard's popular dungeon-crawling RPG Diablo 4 hit the service, and last year's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 came to Game Pass in July. Taking it a step further is Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, which has become the first ever Call of Duty title to release on day one on Xbox Game Pass.

Now, one of the year's biggest games, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, is finally available for Game Pass Ultimate subscribers to enjoy on both PC and console. With a single-player story campaign set in the early 90s, Black Ops 6 sees the return of beloved characters like Frank Woods and Russell Adler in a direct follow-up to the 2020 title Black Ops Cold War. Multiplayer fans have 16 original multiplayer maps to dive into with the exciting new Omnimovement system at play. As for Zombies fans, Black Ops 6 ushers in the return of round-based Zombies with two launch maps.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Is Available Now on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate
Alongside Black Ops 6, Game Pass has also made Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Call of Duty: Warzone playable via cloud for Game Pass Ultimate subscribers. Many fans of the franchise are excited to see the first ever Call of Duty game launch day one onto Game Pass, but many are still hoping for Activision's entire back catalog of past Call of Duty games to flood the service. Fan favorite entries like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2009) and Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 could see a major resurgence well over a decade after their release. Even more recent games like Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare and Infinite Warfare, which were largely criticized, could be given another chance to shine.
It'll be interesting to see how big a boost Game Pass will receive from the day one launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. Fans who are diving in won't have too long to wait for the game's first season of new content, which is expected to come in early December. Until then, there's plenty to enjoy across all three of Black Ops 6' s modes.

Developed by Treyarch and Raven, Black Ops 6 is a spy action thriller set in the early 90s, a period of transition and upheaval in global politics, characterized by the end of the Cold War and the rise of the United States as a single superpower. With a mind-bending narrative, and unbound by the rules of engagement, this is signature Black Ops.
The Black Ops 6 Campaign provides dynamic moment-to-moment gameplay that includes a variety of play spaces with blockbuster set pieces and action-packed moments, high-stakes heists, and cloak-and-dagger spy activity.
In a best-in-class Multiplayer experience, players will test their skills across 16 new maps at launch, including 12 core 6v6 maps and 4 Strike maps that can be played 2v2 or 6v6.
Black Ops 6 also marks the epic return of Round-Based Zombies, the fan-favorite mode where players will take down hordes of the undead in two brand-new maps at launch. Post-launch, players can look forward to even more exciting maps and groundbreaking experiences dropping into both Multiplayer and Zombies.
