Microsoft just released a new update for Game Pass Ultimate members that allows them to stream over 250 different games via the Xbox PC app. Using this new function, Xbox players can not only easily enjoy console-exclusive games on their PCs, but can earn Microsoft Rewards points while doing so.
Earlier this year, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate added a new feature that allowed fans to stream games they owned on Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S consoles to their TVs, Meta Quest Headsets, and select browser-supported devices, including PCs, tablets, and phones. This cloud functionality grants exceptional flexibility to how players can enjoy many of their favorite Xbox games.
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Adds Day-One Soulslike With Unique Death Mechanic
PC Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members can start playing a day-one soulslike ARPG with a unique death mechanic beginning right now.
Now, this feature is being expanded upon in a massive way. As of a new update on July 28, fans with Game Pass Ultimate subscriptions can now stream cloud-playable games they own via the Xbox PC app. This function simplifies the process of enjoying Xbox games on PC, allowing players to save hard drive space and enjoy console-only games in a brand-new way.
Play 250+ Titles on the Xbox PC App With Game Pass Ultimate
More than 250 Xbox games are currently included in the extensive list of those that can be streamed via the cloud. Though they were recently removed from the Xbox Games Pass subscription service itself, games like The Callisto Protocol and Mafia: Definitive Edition can be streamed presently, as can every Assassin’s Creed game from The Ezio Collection through Syndicate, including Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag. Many more will be added to the list soon, including Choo-Choo Charles, Five Nights at Freddy’s, and Wo Long Fallen Dynasty.
As long as fans have an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription, using this new feature is easy: simply navigate to the Cloud Gaming section on the Xbox PC app, find the Stream Your Own Game list, and choose from the cloud-supported games they own to play. Were that not exciting enough, gamers can now easily keep tabs on their weekly Microsoft Rewards points challenges via a new interface, allowing them to earn and claim perks straight from the Xbox PC app home page.
These functions synergize with the larger Xbox Play Anywhere feature, which is available even for fans without Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. With over 1,000 games supported through Xbox Play Anywhere, players can seamlessly switch between their consoles, PCs, and other supported devices at no cost, all while preserving progress, achievements, and DLC. Though Xbox has been a part of the console war that has waged for many years, new features like these are slowly bridging the gap between many of these popular gaming platforms.
