The Xbox Games Showcase and Starfield Direct will be available for fans at select theaters. The event is going to take place on June 11 and will feature the latest and greatest upcoming projects Xbox and its internal studios have to offer followed by a closer look at Bethesda's much-anticipated sci-fi RPG.Traditionally, the Xbox Games Showcase was part of E3, but with the pandemic, the expo's decline in popularity started. Due to that, major studios started to organize their own events, announcing all their upcoming projects separately from competitors. While 2021 was the first year Xbox and Bethesda presented together after Microsoft acquired the publisher, last year was the first time the Xbox Games Showcase stood separate from E3. When it comes to Starfield, fans knew about the upcoming Bethesda game since its announcement in 2018, and they've been waiting patiently for the release date to finally arrive. On Twitter, Wario64, who posts about various gaming deals, shared the news with everyone. Fathom Events will be showing the Xbox Games Showcase and Starfield Direct in select theaters. However, those gamers who are interested need to be members of Xbox FanFest in order to gain access. Tickets are free and will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis on June 2. On top of that, Xbox FanFest is also adding a $10 credit for snacks. While the site goes live on June 2 at 7 am PT, a ticket access email will be sent to members a day before. It's also worth noting that gamers who'd like to get access need to sign up for Xbox FanFest by May 31 and that this offer is only available in the US.
After seeing the announcement, fans believe this shows confidence in Xbox's part in its upcoming projects and expect to see numerous titles on display. So accordingly, gamers started listing out their hopes for what they'd like to see and hear about in detail. The two most mentioned games were Awoved and Fable 4.
Due to the fact, Xbox is creating a large buzz around their Games Showcase, most fans are expecting a display of upcoming titles worthy of the hype it's generating. It raises the pressure on Xbox and its studios, which means if the event doesn't deliver, the disappointment on the part of gamers will be bigger compared to if Xbox kept the promotion a bit more quiet.
