Space Jam returns to the big screen in just over a week with the new movie Space Jam: A New Legacy. To celebrate, Xbox has designed and released custom Xbox controllers themed around the movie that are available now.
The controllers were unveiled late last month alongside a tie-in game titled Space Jam: A New Legacy The Game. The movie again features an NBA superstar teaming up with the likes of Bugs Bunny and company to face off against a villainous team in basketball. However, where the original Space Jam's enemy team came in the form of alien players, Space Jam: A New Legacy will feature an entirely new squad for the team to face off against.
The movie's new teams have led to Xbox releasing four limited-edition controllers themed around the movie. One controller is themed around the Tune Squad and features a design based on their blue and orange uniforms with their logo large and proud right in the middle of the controller. A second controller is in support of the movie's evil Goon Squad that is led by Don Cheadle in Space Jam 2. It features a purple and black design with the team's logo also dominating the middle of the controller.
The third controller is based on the movie's Server-verse, which there is still very little known about ahead of the movie's release. The controller features a circuit board-like design with the Warner Bros. Logo in the middle of the controller, although it is pretty small. The fourth controller, however, is only available as part of a bundle with limited-edition Space Jam 2 Nike sneakers that goes on sale on July 15. The fourth controller in the bundle features a blue and brown mixed design with cartoonish fight clouds and a basketball on it. Perhaps most notable is that the controller features the d-pad being designed to look like a bomb from the cartoon company ACME.
The controllers all look like cool options for Space Jam fans to get their hands on some cool unique merchandise for the movie. Each controller has a lot of personality to them, but they do carry a decent price tag of $70 a pop. Thankfully, Space Jam 2: A New Legacy releases later this month, so fans will be able to see the movie soon and decide which of the controllers best suits them. Fans have been eager to see the movie and discover all of the hinted cameos in Space Jam 2, so it will be great to see who all makes an appearance in the movie.
